I read the good responses related to towing with a Jeep Wrangler and thought I would seek some advice for myself.  I have a 2001 Coleman Westlake.  It weighs 2400# dry and 3500# fully loaded.  I am currently looking for a good towing vehicle -- my Olds Silhouette just isn t built for the job.  I have been looking at Nissan Pathfinders and Xterra s because I like them and because of their reliability rating with Consumer Reports.  They each have a towing capacity of 5000#.
Does anyone have a view on towing a Westlake with either one of these?
 Thanks.

 C. HainsI went from a Ford Windstar to an Explorer (7000 lb towing capacity).  Having the rear wheel makes a difference in towing.  Either one of the vehicles you are looking at should do a fine job.  I needed to add a sway bar because of the shorter wheel base.

 C. HainsMy Xterra does great the only problem is you have to use add on mirrors to see around the camper.

 C. HainsI have a 1998 Pathfinder and have had no problems towing with it or seeing over the PU or to the sides with out any additional mirrors.
