We want to take the kids to Dutch Wonderland and they have a link on their site to this campground.  The fact that it is right next door is appealing since we are just going for the weekend.  If you ve heard anything about it or have personal experience I would appreciate the feeback.

 LoveOurBaysideHi,

I camped there in the summer of 2001.

It was clean and well-run, with grass sites.  Close to most tourist shops, attractions, Amish stuff, and play houses (within 10-45 minutes).  Not a big campground.

On site was an non-functioning water-driven grist mill, and a retired wind-mill to pump water.  Also, a covered bridge over the stream, store and mini-museum.  Free ride around campground on Amish buggy behind horses.

The only noise came from cows in the early morning.

Sites could have been larger, but no worse than many private ones.

 I would go back.

LoveOurBaysideBeen there and going back again. It is very nice but I would not call it camping. We go to do our Christmas shopping in the area. Even thought it is very nice it is very nosiy[8D] and to many people.

LoveOurBaysideWe went there our first time out in the popup.  The kids enjoyed it.  The sites aren t very secluded.  You share a T shaped pad.  But we were right across from the stream and looked out over it to a field that had cows grazing near the stream. There were a couple kids trying to fish from the stream.  Dutch Wonderland was within walking distance.

It isn t a very nature based campground, but then it is right off of rte 30, in the thick of the outlets and tourist places. It is a good cg for base camping.  The bathrooms were very clean, the folks running it were friendly.

We ll definitely be going back either this spring or early fall while the park is open.

LoveOurBaysideI think CampAlot has Old Mill Stream confused with Mill Bridge Village.  Mill bridge village is affiliated with Spring Gulch campground.  Old Mill Stream is affiliated with Dutch Wonderland.

Anyway, Old Mill Stream is a cute campground and is bigger than you would think.  The bathrooms are very nice -- especially the family bathrooms that have a toilet, sink and shower with a seperate entrance from outside.  These are great for parents to wash their kids and actually have room to move.

The last time we were there was before Hershey bought them and Dutch Wonderland.  The origianl owners were very nice and attentive, but not overpowering.  I heard they were hired on to run the place.  I don t think you will be disappointed with this campground if you want to be in the heart of Lancaster and next to Dutch Wonderland.

LoveOurBaysideCampingboaters, thank you for catching my error.  You are right; I wrote about Mill Bridge Campresort.  The stream took my memory to the wrong place.

LoveOurBayside, I hope that you have not acted upon what I wrote, which was correct of Mill Bridge Campresort.
