Hi all, For those of you who saw an earlier post asking for grill suggestions - yes, I m still researching buying a new grill.  We ve decided to upgrade from a small propane cylinder type to a larger unit.  DH wants to use the big propane tank and have more versatility.  To that end I ve looked (via internet) at the Coleman Road Trip & also Camp Chef models.  Has anyone seen or used the Camp Chef 2 Burner Big gAss Grill II?  Or the Adventurer II Sport Grill?  I remember reading good posts about Camp Chef stoves on the old board & am trying to figure out if these models would be worth the $$.  For the obvious reason of cost I m hoping this would be a unit to use for many years.....

Any first hand comments would be appreciated, sometimes the web is most useful for price comparison - not final decisions!

 Thanks in advance![:)]

4campinfoxesWe have the Camp Chef SPG60 & really love it!  We ve gone through many grills trying to find the right one for camping & home.  With our Camp Chef, we have the versatility to take it camping & the durability for frequent use at home.

I still like using the old Weber charcoal grill at home for indirect cooking a turkey.  This is by far THE best method for cooking a turkey, IMO.  Yet, I would never take a Weber camping.  It takes up too much space & is too much work for camping.

Let me know if you need any more feed back.

 Peace be with you all.

4campinfoxesCamp Chef is the way to go, we have the three burner (SPG90) and use it camping and at home.  DH has the right idea, bigger is better, and the accessories make the CC complete.  Bought a little oven for DW homemade biscuts.  We eat better when camping, work is part of the pleasure. With the dutch oven, turkeys come out fantastic.  It really doesn t matter what you want to cook, The CC will do it with style.

4campinfoxesI have a Camp Chef Sport Stove- 2 burner with legs and carrying case. It usually stays packed now that I have all the accessories for the Coleman Road Trip. The times I usually set it up is when cooking for more than the two of us or when boiling large amounts of water for lobster and steamers! It boils water in about 2 minutes flat!
I must say that since I got the Road Trip and all the accessories for it, the Camp Chef gets much less use!

We have the Camp Chef Sportsman DL-60LW. Dunno how it relates to the ones you ve mentioned, but it has two burners (30,000 btu each),  the legs come off and store underneath the burners, the windscreen works pretty good, the burners fit all but the largest pans, and it s built plenty strong enough to last many, many years. We use it for large meals, and- as mentioned above- boiling a lot of water *fast* for dishes. Place a big ol  iron griddle on it, and you can do bacon, eggs, and pancakes all at the same time. For two people it would be overkill on overnight trips, but if you need to cookup a big meal, or will be set up for at least a couple nights, it s a good investment. The smaller gas stoves/grills ain t even in the same league.

Any bigger, and you re getting into the " semi" -portable catagory. But I ve seen Camp Chef 3-burner stoves that will make any camping chef s heart turn all warm and fuzzy. They make a good product.
