I posted a question looking for info in the " South Atlantic"  review area.  If you live in FL and can offer any assistance, I would appreciate it.

jaycocamprsFlorida has some great state park campgrounds.  Here is a link to the state parks webpage.  Once you find a park you are interested in, you can go to the park s webpage to check out activities, driving instructions, etc.  Click on the Reserve America online reservation link to see campground maps and get lists of amenities.  Most state parks have shaded and semi-shaded sites with full hook-ups, good bathroom and shower facilities, laundry facilities.

jaycocamprshow about re-posting your actual question(s) here?

jaycocamprsI just didn t want to post the same question in two places but, here is what he was asking:

 >I m headed to Florida in a few weeks, and I m looking for a place to
 >stay. I m planning on spending a few days in and around the Santa Fe
 >River, in the area of High Springs and the Ichetucknee River. I m
 >looking at the O Leno State Park, but I m open to suggestions.
I did receive some info from CamperJones...thanks, I passed the info on to him.

Can anyone offer any other suggestions?

 Thanks

jaycocamprsYou might try Paynes Prairie in Micanopy.  I m going to Silver River SP in early April.  Thats in Ocala.  Here is the link to Fla. SP:

jaycocamprsDidn t look on the map so I m not sure what part of Florida you are heading to, but if you are anywhere near the Sarasota area, AND like camping in the wild as opposed to canned entertainment, Myakka State Park looks like a wonderful place!
We kayaked the Myakka River last Spring and passed a few campsites and I wanted to come back to VT, hitch up the camper and head back down! My wife did too until we passed the site where a couple of aligators were sunning themselves on the campsite!
Not sure why THAT bothered her, we d been paddling with them for 2 hours at that point, you d think she would have gotten used to them!

jaycocamprsup there I would definitely recommend Ginnie Springs.  do a google search, they have a website.  Foghorn rates is a " 9"

it s a private CG - they don t take dogs, though[:(]

If you do go to O Leno, please post your comments.  Foghorn gives it a " 10"
Oh, dear, they don t take dogs either.

Make sure you tube the Ichetucknee River at Ichetucknee Springs State Park.  There s an Ichtuck. Springs Campground that gets a " 9"  and the do accept dogs.  It is located at Fort White.  I suspect it s a county park.

i haven t stayed at Myakka, but Oscar Scherer is a lovely state park near Sarasota
