Does/has anyone here own(ed) an Aliner? What has been your experience with it? Are they expensive compared to soft sided pop ups? Are they more noise proof than conventional pop ups? Do they retain heat better than soft sided pop ups? Would you feel safe cooking bacon inside of it in bear country? Are they well constructed? Are comparatively heavy trailers? How high is your model, closed? Anything else?

Does/has anyone here own(ed) an Aliner? Yes, We have had our Aliner going on 5 years now

What has been your experience with it?  Our experiences with the Aliner have been fantastic! It has been the PERFECT camper for the 2 of us. The quick set up and take down can t be beat, great for road trips , 1 nighters, and hassle free set ups.

Are they expensive compared to soft sided pop ups? I guess that depends on the model and options you are looking to get. But as a general rule I d say yes they are costlier, anything that covers a small niche usually is.

Are they more noise proof than conventional pop ups? I have never camped in a conventional pop up, but it is slightly more soundproofed than our tent was.Except when it rains, they are noisier than the tent in the rain.

Do they retain heat better than soft sided pop ups? Being Insulated it holds the heat well in the cooler weather, using less propane and battery juice to heat. It seemed to hold the A/C as well, in TN. We normally dry camp, setting up in the shade. The interior temp usually stays right in line of the outside temp

Would you feel safe cooking bacon inside of it in bear country?NO, if a bear can rip open your car to get to a cooler he can rip open an Aliner made of foam and aluminum just as easy or even easier.
We camp in bear country and have never cooked inside of the camper yet and I have no intentions of doing so.

Are they well constructed? In the time we have had ours, we have not had anything fall apart on us. It has held together well ,and we have gone down some rough backroads .

Are comparatively heavy trailers? Our LXE weighs 1850 with all the options

How high is your model, closed? I am 5 3"  and the Aliner is about up to my nose. We have the 14 inch tires and the Lift for off road use.

  Anything else? I LOVE IT!!
Would we get another one if we had to do it all over again? YES
Feel free to email with any other questions you may have.
Also you might want to visit the Aliner/Chalet forum for an in depth look, as with any camper they all have issues to watch out for.
