 Thinking about going this weekend.

 Any recommendations on site numbers?

I d like a somewhat secluded site, not close to playground, close to water (if possible), close to hiking trails (if possible), and close to restrooms/showers (please!)

Heard this is a great lil  park.

JemJen24Cleburne is a very " open"  park.  Not a lot seclusion.
Sites 1-16 are in the older section of the park and this area has more shade.  I like 16.  The shower house in that area is very old and I do not recommend it.
Sites 17-23 are at the north end.  I think 18 is the best with 17 a close second.
Sites 24-31 are on a circle and all about equal.
Sites listed above are " power&water" .  All the rest are " Full Hook-Up" .
Sites 32-43 are in a long row and fairly shadey.  Don t care much for the lay out but nothing wrong with it.  Shower house is newer but gets heavy use and shows it.
Sites 44-58 are nice and give you good water access.  Sites 46 through about 52 give you the best access with pretty good fishing.  We were between 48 & 51 when my GS caught that bass 2 weeks ago.  Shower house in this area gets a lot less use and is in much better shape.
A bit south of the boat ramp there is a parking area that leads to a good hiking trail off to the east.  This trail will take you back to the dam and up above it on the east side of the park.  Very pretty views.
Hope this helps.  E-mail me if you need more info.

JemJen24I like 45 and 46 best in the loop down by the water.  Site 57 probably has the most privacy since its down on the end but access to the water isn t as good.

Here s a picture of site 57 (the one on the end)... http://community.webshots.com/photo/55433395/55439978PMgyJc   It looks like they are close together but that was because of the zoom on the camera.  There is actually pretty good separation.

Here s a picture of site 55...  http://community.webshots.com/photo/55433395/55439873dKSBdA    This shows you a better view of how far the sites are separated.

JemJen24Well, we went to Cleburne and I must say it s just a LOVELY park to be so close to the DFW area!  I was very surprised.  We had site #38 (The 50 s by the water were all taken up).  It got pretty cold and was very windy which made it a bit uncomfortable, but we still managed to hike SIX miles!!!  whew!

Saturday late afternoon Willard then said he was thinking of going home because it was just too cold to really enjoy ourselves.  Soooo, we packed up and left, vowing to return when the weather s warmer.

I ve checked next week s weather report and we ll be in the 80 s by Friday with thunderstorms and rain forecasted for Saturday (eyeroll) FIGURES!

Nice park!  Really liked it.  We re planning on going back soon.
