A few months ago, I did the flooring in my trailer and got a lot of positive responses about it.  After a few campouts, it has proven to be a good move.  It is easy to keep clean, improved the insulation of the trailer and above all, the trailer looks good.

I ve provided a link to a set of photos of my other deshnitizifications since.  They are:

 - a removable TV stand
 - a removable bar for hanging clothes
 - a custom box for the BAL leveler
 - and some other toys to improve and enhance the camping experience.

Check it out and see what you think.  They have all made camping such a fun and orderly experience.

 SurfcalNice pictures and descriptions Ray!
When I get my BAL leveler, I will be commissioning you for a carrying case.  I hope you wrote down the dimensions.

SurfcalNice job on the Deshnitzifications!  You are an inspiration to us all.

SurfcalRay you should make me a box.[:D]  I still love the look of your floor too.  Do you attach the TV to the stand?

Surfcal

 SurfcalHello Tracy:

Regarding attaching the TV to the stand, no, I don t use any fancy attachments, I pretty much employ a cheap way of keeping the TV on the stand.  It s called gravity and it s readily available.  I use it during the day and at night.

Being in California, where we are famous for earthquakes, I might run into a problem if that ever happens, but I ll rely on the floor to break the fall.

Seriously, the stand is very stable and I once thought of using a bungy cord, but I didn t want to junk up the look.

 Hi Trina:

I am sure it did and now I just camp in the driveway, too heavy to tow it anywhere.

Actually, I am sure I am now towing an extra 40-50 lbs.  But considering the size of the trailer and beefy truck I tow with, it isn t an issue at all.  If it had been a bigger box, I would have definitely had second thoughts.

But the positives " outweigh"  (ha, a nice pun) the negatives.  I really like the cleanliness of the new flooring versus the industrial carpeting I used to have in there.   I also feel that the trailer is tighter and more solid feeling.  And, it s a vast improvement over the linoleum that was in there in the first place.  Above all, it was a cheap deshnitzification with dramatic results.  At night, I just roll out a tasteful rug and it takes care of the cold floor.

So the bottom line is, if I had a bigger trailer, I wouldn t have done it.  So I don t recommend it just for anyone.

SurfcalRay how many square feet did you use?  I am thinking about adding it to my trailer.  I doubt that I will do it this year, but I really like the look of it.

 SurfcalTracy:

I actually got a real good deal.  I got the whole thing, the flooring, moulding and threshold for $ 54.00.  I went to a flooring store and I chose the color I wanted and it turned out that they also did installations.  They had some remnants and odds and ends and after describing to the folks what I was up to, they got a kick out of the project and they basically let me take the additional stuff that I needed.

The flooring area I estimate is around 6  X 6  give and take a cabiner area here and there.  I think those measurements are generous.
