You know the world is going crazy when the best rapper is a white guy, the best golfer is a black guy, The Swiss hold the America s Cup, France is accusing the US of arrogance, and Germany doesn t want to go to war.[: (]

WayfarerCouldn t have said it better myself!!! [:D]

WayfarerIt all started going down hill when we all wanted  to dance disco.

Acts 2:38 girl

WayfarerWho is the best white rapper?  Please don t say M & M ( I know it s spelled wrong, but I do it to bug fans [:D])  That is one angry, confused, tourmented soul.  It s just sad.

ShirleyT

Acts 2:38 girlEminem raps about what he has lived and some of his songs actually are good. There are only a few that I like. There have been other rappers whose lyrics were just as vulgar but no one bothered to focus on them because they weren t white.

I am not sure I understand the statement about " the best golfer is black" . Why shouldn t someone who is African American descent be able to golf as well as anyone else? Was the world crazy when Lee Trevino started was on top??

I have refrained from commenting on this topic until now because I wasn t sure how to put my thoughts without it causing a riot.

WayfarerI ve got to agree with Shirley about Eminem s music.  Take out the vulgar language and his music is as intense about life as any blues singer or heart wrenching country ballad.  His life may have been hard growing up but his appeal to today s youthful generation is no different than the uproar the Beatles had just by having long hair.  Everyone was up in arms about that too, remember?  And Elvis  hips?  Now both of them are heard in supermarkets and elevators.

As to the best golfer being black?  Well, he s 1/2 black and 1/2 Thai but most people just look at the color I guess.  There have been few black athletes in golf so if you just look at the sarcasm dripping off the original post then it makes sense.  Lee Trevino?  He was just as much a sensation in his day for the same reasons that Tiger is now.  Both of them are class people that inspired many others to follow them.

WayfarerAw, shucks!  Looks like I ve done it again.  Should have known someone would start nitpickin over my comment about our times and get their drawers all bunched up over the " black guy"  thing.  Hey, nothing " racial"  was intended and I doubt even suspected until someone started getting technical over lineage and types of music, etc., etc.  Guys, it was just a comment on our times copied off the internet and added here as an " OT"  thing.  I ll know better next time.  No more chitchat, no more humor, just technically correct stuff having to do with camping and roasting weiners.

If anyone can get in a dither over some of the things posted on this forum, I could.  My family tree shows my ancestors to include Irish, English, French (ouch!), Italian and American Indian (and on close inspection we might find something else in the family woodpile).  My grandfather on my mother s side came from Georgia, I have a nephew who is definitely a redneck, a niece named Karen, my father voted a straight democratic ticket, and I was born in Texas and grew up in Arkansas.  Talk about handicaps!

Well, guess I ll lighten up before we have a Congressional Inquiry and things get out of hand.

See all y all down the road.

WayfarerGood one, wayfarer.  Very well, said, with humor, I hope.  It had me laughing even though you were probably very serious.  Naw, ain t gonna have any government inquiries. They re too busy collecting tax returns to bother right now.[;)][;)][;)][;)]
