OK, Here s the deal, I made a box to store the leveler in. Now where do I keep the box, when camping......

So I thought I would print out one of my License plates (MTNCMPR), And add one of the Bumper stickers from each of the bulletin boards to it. Then, When we are set up, It would go on the front of the camper, perhaps leaning against the battery box.

Question, can I coat everything with Varathane or what?

My plate is just printed on regular paper, but I could print one on photo paper too.

 Any thoughts?

MtnCampertell us more about the box....that BAL-in-the-box is a pain-in-the-asknosquestions!

I was thinking that perhaps I should put clear contact on the box so it wouldn t disintegrate.  I put it in one of those green (blue tarp material) bags for storing your Xmas wreath.  This way I have handles and it s in a water-proof container.

Mine is pretty much the same as Surfcal s. Only it s framed on 3 sides with 3/4 pine, and top and bottom out of plywood. I m sanding and coating it with something. I didn t put any metal on it, (hinges, or latches) because I didn t want to take a chance of it rubbing and scratching up anything. It will ride upright just inside the door, beside the cooler.

MtnCamperYou could consider fastening a cotton placemat or short-nap rug sample onto the side that would be facing the cabinet when it s in the camper for travelling.  You could use contact cement to keep it in place.  Should prevent any scratching, etc.

MtnCamperI often Podge things and then varathane over the whole thing. If you are worried about the paper coming off don t. Just be careful when you steel wool between coats or you ll tear up your stickers. Use an outdoor high gloss varathane for the best results. I use the paint on stuff I find the spray just doesn t good as good a job. I  usually use a minimum of 3 coats. Gives things a nice shine and protects really well from the elements.

Trlrboy...Actually, we re working on a shelf for bunkends and slide-outs. Kind of a universal fit type of deal. Looks like it will run about half the cost of the shelves the dealers sell. All metal construction with a powder coat finish. Maybe next year for the Bal Box.

BTW, when are you coming over to wash my truck?
