LoadedCameraMy DH makes SURE he is good and comatose for the evening!!  Actually, the only thing that will wake him immediately is the fire tones for a call! [&:]  I have tried other things, but I spend more time shoving and poking and whining, that it s not worth it!

I have been interested in this procedure for quite a while.  Reading all the mostly positive remarks has prompted me to make an appointment for a consultation with a Dr.Kansas in Albany,NY.  When I called I lucked out and they had a cancellation, so I get to go Friday morning.[:D]   I hope I make out as well as the rest of you.

LoadedCameraI had my eyes done four years ago.  Best gift I ever gave myself.  I d worn glasses for 30 years.  Went from 20/400 to 20/15 vision in both eyes.   It is SO nice being able to *see*, especially at night when you wake up and need to read the clock across the room.

farmerGood luck!  I have my one week followup today...  Should be able to get an idea what (if any) additional improvements a week has done..

I went from 20/400 to 20/20 and from CSF@10  to 20/25 the day after the procedure...

Looking forward to the results from my followup today!

 LoadedCameraActs2:38girl,

How come you cannot see with your glasses?  I have the same presription as you and I switch from glasses to contacts every day.  I also am at bifocal age and just tried monovison with my contacts.  My left eye has the contact for distance and my right eye has a slightly weeker prescription in so that I can see close up.  It has worked wonderfully for me.  I still use my old glasses without a problem.    I m just curious why you can t take out your contacts?

wynot

LoadedCameraMan, if I had LASIK, I would have to find safety glasses for mowing, grinding, shop work all the time...

Had contacts for a short while, enough to find out that instead of wearing glasses, I had to wear sunglasses - which I don t normally do.

I m glad to hear the success stories and am glad for you and those who have had it done, think I ll just happily sit here on the sidelines becoming more bifocally challenged...[:o]

 wynotWell
I met with the doc this am and have scheduled the procedure for the 25th of April ![:D]
I had many questions and was a little hesitant, but the doctor has done 6000 procedures and answered all my questions so I am on board for the LASIK.
I ll keep you posted(if anyone cares).

wynotWell, I had the procedure on Friday.  At Saturday s check I was 20/30 and 20/60 instead of 20/400 and 20/500.  Now it seems like I am 20/20 in both eyes!![:D]  I can see everything that my DW can see from the same spot.  It is great to be able to read the alarm clock from my pillow.  I look forward to the one week check up to find out what my actual vision is.
