Papaso

Over the years I ve run into them, but this last time they really tore me up. While we were camping we felt them especially Ali my oldest DD, they didn t seem to bother me though, but on Monday the inside of my arms and ankles looked like I had a terrible case of chicken pox. We counted over 100 bites on each arm and my ankles have more than can be counted. What s funny is I hardly felt them at all. We had our fan going on the outside and even used Off with deet and citronella candles but apparently nothing kept them away. Thank God for Benedryl ointment and pills because the itching is horrible. Does anybody have any suggestions to for keeping these Deadly creatures at bay.
 Happy Camping

PapasoHola, papaso....we had the same trouble at Flamingo a few weeks ago.  I posted a request for ideas - don t remember getting anything spectacular - except the one who said she and her husband basted no see  um mesh around the regular netting.

I was toying with the idea of trying to make a Mombasa-type circular net and hang it from the shepherd s hook.

here s that thread:  I believe I posted a CampMor link to their pages.  There s a double epco tropiscreen (?) that could go on top of the mattresses.  I have the single one that is just a dome tent that covers your head and upper torso and then the no see  um mesh continues down a bit.  I added extra mesh so that the end could be wrapped around a small duffel and keep it off my legs.  Now if only I could find the durned things.

I m going to WPFranklin Lock & Dam (nr Ft. Myers) on Friday, but have decided to just stay one night and take a tent (all no see  um mesh!) and work the market on Sunday.
