 sniffidsniffid,
DiW can probably give you info on this one. We pass by it a lot but have never stopped in. They have 435 sites & must pack everyone in like sardines. It seems more a resort than a campground to me. $31/day for 2 adults, $8 for each additional adult or child over 5 plus $3 for sewer hookup & $4 for an electric hot water heater is a bit much. A family of four could pay $54/day! There are some upsides; they give you FREE cable (lol), have a store & lots of activities to keep everyone busy.

sniffidI too am originally from that area and passed by the cg many times in the 1960 s and 1970 s and really never knew anything about it.

We camped there in late September or early October of 2001.  I have no idea what we paid, but we checked out several other campgrounds within say...a 10 mile radius or so and Panther Lake was the best.  We really only used the cg as a " hotel"  and did not partake of any activities or swim in the lake - plus the weather was decidedly chilly.

Two things I do remember though...we were having a campfire Saturday night and the weather had gotten chilly, so some of the family were in side the camper with the furnace running, when we ran out of propane.  It was around 9:30 PM, the store closed at 9:00 PM, but I figured I d try to get the tank filled.  I went up to the store and they were in the process of closing.  I explained what I needed and they gladly filled the tank for me.

The other thing was the bathrooms we used.  The were a bit primitive but very clean, but they charged a dollar for a 5 minute shower and you could NOT adjust the temperature.  The shower came out at one specific temperature which was hot enough, but there was no adjusting it, so that if it was too hot or cold for one, it could not be changed.  I thought that was odd more than annoying really...

Not a great campground, but a decent one we thought.  And we would have no prolem staying here again.

sniffidHi guys. I never stayed there, but did drive through once. Saw a bear roaming from site to site. Lots of people there. Wasn t overly impressed, bathrooms were old style. VERY expensive or would be for our family of 5. Did have a pool and nice tennis courts.  Old mini golf. Seemed like lots of activities were planned but as I said, we didn t actually stay there.
