Well, today I had off, so I went to my seasonal site and opened the pu after my sis brought it up there. She was helping me with some stuff. I decided to clear the lines of antifreeze that they use to winterize with. So we hooked up the hoses and turn on the faucets and of course you can hear the air trying to go thru the water lines. No problem....it was cleaning good so I decided to go outside and redo the fireplace pit with my sis. The former owners had it near the road. So as we were doing this it took about 20 minutes. I decided to go in the pu and shut the water off. As I walked in, the water was overflowing from the sink.....water everywhere. I guess what happend was, there was a air trap (some of you will know what I m talking about) so the water couldn t drain. I went to pick up the cushion and the water was pouring from it. Darlene and I finally cut my hoses to about 10-11 feet long so it would just go down the hill behind my pu. At waters edge they let you drain the grey water. She cut one for the shower too. No problem now....it drains great. Now all I have to do is wait until my cushions dry.....oh, well!!

Foxyladies[:@][: (][:o] Yes that qualifies as a SPUT.  I hope everything drys out and you don t have any problems with mildew.

Turn Key

FoxyladiesYep!  That s a SPUT you got yourself there.  Sorry to hear about it but glad it was a SPUT you can recover from.

tlhdocI am new to this forum and did not find the acronymn SPUT in the FAQ.  Could someone clue me in?

FoxyladiesAgreeing with others, it is truly a SPUT.

Usually a SPUT is obvious. If it isn t obvious, it probably isn t a SPUT.

OTOH, some of the less obvious SPUT s can be the most entertaining.

FoxyladiesNo One is immune from SPUTs either!!!
Our first trip out for the season and DH and I were setting up like a well oiled machine. After 14 years of pop-up camping we thought we had it down to a science. DH was doing the final water hookup and thought I was inside doing the final set up. He turned on the water and walked to the front of the camper as I was just entering the door. Needless to say, as he had not removed the cutting board covering the sink and as both faucets had been left in the " on"  position, we had water EVERYWHERE!.  He realized the mistake immediately and ran to shut off the water. Leason learned.......A little communication is STILL a good thing. And we all know the old saying about " assuming" , don t we! LOL

FoxyladiesI guess we had a minor set of SPUTs, all with water this last weekend.

I was washing the car with our Freshwater hose, and asked DW to get me some more soapy water from the outside shower, well, she couldn t get it to work...[&:]

DD tried to get a drink of water while I was washing the car with the same freshwater hose, hollered something about the water (she s always saying something so we don t always pay attention), so she tried both taps in the sink and left them open which wasn t a problem until...[:o]

...I reconnected the freshwater hose that I had been washing the car with, so that DW could get some more soapy warm water, which she did, but I hear water running somewhere...[>:]

...from the open taps that our daughter had opened and not closed, and now the greywater container is past full...[:)]

Of course, then yours truly is disconnecting the freshwater hose from the camper, as we pop down, I ve duly shut the water off at the spigot, to wonder why a hose with no pressure is trying to squirt me, to turn around to see DD showing us that she understood how these spigots worked and had turned it on for us.[:@][;)][:D]
