There are two new polls in the [link=http://www.popuptimes.com/members/tt.asp?appid=12&p=1&tmode=1]Poll Forum[/link].

The first is [link=http://www.popuptimes.com/members/tm.asp?m=24199&p=1&tmode=1]Burrr...your coldest night in the pop-up[/link] and the second is [link=http://www.popuptimes.com/members/tm.asp?m=24202&p=1&tmode=1]What was your hottest day in the pop-up?[/link]

Please be heard!  Please brag!  Please demonstrate your bravery (or stupidity)!

NOTE: The correct place to respond is in the [link=http://www.popuptimes.com/members/tt.asp?appid=12&p=1&tmode=1]Poll Forum[/link], not here!

AustinBostonRelying on my memory: coldest, probably in the 20 s (Grand Canyon, mid-April) - heavy frost outside in the morning (& we don t have heat in the PU, in some ways it is chillier than the tent). Hottest, early June in Utah, at least upper 90 s. Record in the tent is 105ΓΈ at Dinosaur NM (warped the plastic frames on my brand new glasses while they were in the niche over the rear-view mirror, good thing I d taken my old ones or I d have had to use my sunglasses for the rest of the 3 week trip - and this was the first night.) - what makes this even more memorable is the next night (outside the Tetons) was cold enough that there was a good layer of ice in the plastic water " blob"  left out on the picnic table by morning.

AustinBostonWell when we wanted to ski but couldn t afford hotels we took the PU. Yes, we were young and foolish.  The worst came one weekend when we woke up Saturday morning to -12 degrees F. It wasn t toasty in the PU and our boots were frozen to the floor but with a catalytic, and Mr Buddy type heater, and the PU furnace at head level it stayed around 45 degrees. We closed the bunk end curtians and slept on the dinette. By Sunday afternoon we had about a 1/4 inch of frost all over the canvas.
On the other extreme it wasn t Florida that was the hottest, but Charlotte, NC. The two weeks we stayed with BIL the lowest temp we saw at night was 89 degrees. The average daytime temp ran 106 degrees. What made it worse was the humidity never fell below 100 percent day or night. It was after this trip we installed AC in the PU. DUring the trip we slept on BIL  living room floor with the mattresses from the PU.

How about snow? My personal record is shoveling just over 24 inches of snow off the PU when camping and having to wait a extra day for them to get in and plow the roads so I could dig out the car and hook up.

Needless to say in all three cases the PU had to be raised when we got home to dry everything out.

AustinBostonOur experience was not as extreme but we live in Texas.  Last Thanksgiving we trotted up to Antlers OK to PU next to my parents cabin (one room cabin - need privacy).  The second night it seemed awfully cold.  Asked DH to go to the truck and check the digital thermostate which read " ICE"  " 22" .  The next night around 200am (seemed colder that night) we realized the propane had ran out.  My wonderfull husband was kind to go outside ( in PJ s) and switch tanks as I remained under all four blankets.   What a great guy...

Hottest was camping in MO last summer, late June in the river bottoms near the Current River in the Mark Twain National Forest.  We had to dry camp as no hook ups.  Humidity was awful.  Tons of nats.  Thanks to Dad for the pinon wood, saved us all.  Thank goodness for the DC fans we bought.  Would have been going home early without them.

Ironic thing was the river was spring fed and freezing.

AustinBostonWe camped over Thanksgiving weekend at the Ludington State Park......  temps were in the teens and the snow was coming down.  That was my first lesson that snow turns to ice on PU canvas.  It was a mess.  Inside it was shorts and a tee shirt with the furnace blasting and a ceramic heater.

We ll go out in any kind of weather as long as the roads are fairly decent.

Last weekend it was in the 30 s at night when we were out.  I wouldn t buy a PU in Michigan without a furnace.
