My unit has completed our mission in Iraq.  We are now about 120 miles south of Baghdad in a staging area waiting for orders to move further south to Kuwait.  It will still likely be several months until we get home but the day is coming!

My unit did well and were fortunate enough not to suffer any deaths.  We did suffer several injuries (none from hostile fire), all of those Marines will recover nicely.

It is nice to get to read the forums a little bit.  I can t wait to get home to my family and spend some time with you all.

DiplomatHey Jeff!!!!  I saw your screen nameand actually gasped!  I am so glad to hear that you and your unit have come through the war without any fatalities.  I ve thought about you and your family a lot since you left for Iraq at the beginning of the year and have kept you in our family s prayers.  Part of my prayer was not only that the Lord would bring you home safely, but in time for the rally this weekend!!!  Oh well, I ll settle for safely.  (I m sure Kathy would agree on that one![;)])

Rest assured that we will miss you and your family at the rally this weekend, but we hope to meet you still in the near future (no getting outof it that easy!)  We willmost definitely raise a magarita in your honor this weekend.  Thank you for all of your and your family s sacrifice to keep us free and safe.  Please tell all of your fellow servicemen a big thank you and God bless from us.  You undoubtedly get the award for the longest distance post!!  You are a true PUT-er through an d through!  DiplomatRemember, before he left for the sandbox, Jeff had orders to North Carolina.  We may have to have this rally on the east coast; or maybe 2 of them[:D]
