After many many years of tent camping in all kinds of weather we have made our dreams come true and puchased our first popup! A starcraft 2101, we would love to hear from others re: storage hints and any other bits of info. IT is a2003 model.

JaniceMCongratulations on the new PU.  I hope you get to use it soon.

JaniceMCongratulations on the PU!!!  My number one item is bath mats that go at the entrances of the beds to keep the dirt off the beds as much as possible.  Alot of folks here use the sterile drawers for storage.  BAL leveler is the best for leveling the camper from side to side.  Gray water containers to catch the water from the sink as some CG s do not allow it to run off.

Also checkout some of the members website that are located in the signature part of their post.  You will find so much information there it will blow your mind.

 HAPPY CAMPING!!!

Congrats! There s nothing like bringing the popup home for the first time. That 2101 looks like a nice floorplan. I wish we had a second seating area, but then we wouldn t have as much counter space or our shower/potty combo [&:]. I also wish I had a front storage trunk, but then it wouldn t fit in the garage!  Storage hints: sterlite buckets and drawers. They prevent you from making a million trips back and forth to the car. The buckets are good for outside stuff like grey and freshwater hoses, wheel chocks, cranks, etc. Store those in the front trunk. The plastic sterlite drawers are good for packing clothes.  It looks like you have one cabinet where you can put your plastic drawers. You should be able to stack three high.

Store anything in the front trunk that you will need access to once you get home. Leave everything else in the popup. Your sink is to the rear, so you can still get anything you leave in the aisle while the popup is closed. We put blankets and pillows in the dinette storage area because they can be squished.

For grey water, you may want to buy one or two 7-gallon blue Aquatainers from Walmart. They cost about $7 each. You can just run a hose directly through the hole in the cap (it s where the spigot it comes with would ordinarily be). Or you can rig up a system using PVC piping for <$10. 7-gallons is just about the right size. Good holding capacity and not too heavy when full.

If you dry camp and use the furnace at all, I recommend a second battery.

Have fun and let us know how your first trip goes!

 JaniceMNCSunshine,

Your right about the Bath Mats. I made the mistake of getting these beautiful floral rugs. I m the only one who uses the pu so its very prissy and frilly. Well, I didn t know the rugs were of wool material. I had to dry clean them and they fell apart after just one season. I m now going to look for bath mats.....at least you can throw them in the washer and they don t cost more to clean then what you bought them for.[:@]
