Any good thoughts on these? We are on a budget!

We have seen the quick set up type, but how much are they, and where do I find them?

We received one as a gift last year, but it was the Ozark Mtn (Walmart) kind. We actually asked for that one, but we tried setting it up in our living room, and what a pain! We decided to pack it up and take it back.

 Any thoughts?

brainpauseBeen doing some research while waiting for replies here. I did a search (of course) on the message board. Those EZ-UP s are nice, but way more money than we can squeak out right now.

Does anyone have any experience with the Quik Shade Weekender Instant Canopy? It is available at walmart.com (and maybe the brick and mortar store). That, along with the optional screen walls, would be only about 130.00.

brainpauseWe bought a Wenzel (14x14) screen room.  It was a real bear to put up because of its size.  We found that if we lay it across the top of a picnic table, side table or something similar, it was so much easier to put up.  Still is cumbersome after getting all the spokes in - one person (the one with the longest arms) has to hold it up while the second person secures the poles to the tenting.  We can do the whole thing pretty fast now and are glad we bought the big size because once you put it up over a picnic table, there would no room to manuever in a smaller one.

Yep! We do.... I like the fact we don t have to use the screening unless the bugs are real bad. The QuickShade is easy to put up, I ve done it solo. But is much easier with 2.

The screen fits around the canopy very tightly, the first  few times it was a pain to put on  untill it stretched some. Maybe check Target, we paid less for it there.

Gamecock Camper

brainpauseTarget is a good place to start.  I have the AAR for the camper and depending on where we are going.... I will also bring a dining canopy (Coleman - octogon shape) and a Greatland screenroom (octogon shape also).   Both are easy to put up with all the poles attached using shock-cords (the fabric bungee connectors that keep the poles together so you don t go crazy setting these things up)......  I would recommend either one.  If you are looking for a bargain and can wait.... all these go on sale around Labor Day to early October.  That is when I bought both of these,.... I saved about 1/3 on the screenroom and paid about 1/2 for the canopy.  Unless the bugs are bad where you are camping, I d recommend the dining canopy.  The screen room zipper doors can become quite a hassle when going in and out of the screenroom

brainpauseWell, after much driving, much surfing, and much ebaying, we finally settled on a 10  x 10  Quik Shade from Walmart. We found it at a Walmart that is probably 17 miles from our house! (Which is going past a lot of other stores).

It is the model that has curtains and lights, and is actually cheaper than nearly everything else we looked at, at least the types that " unfold"  open, accordion-style. We also had taken back the old screen room that we didn t like, which was $37 and change. So, we just applied that to the cost, and we have put it up and taken it down a couple of times already! We are thrilled!

As a side note, we took it to her parents  house and set it up in the living room while they were gone! Her mother couldn t believe it, and I can t wait to see her dad s expression when he gets home!

Marcy, a whole lotta weight was on your shoulders, since your recommendation for the Quik Shade was the most enlightening! Thanks!
