hbfc6My Mothers Day gift is a weekend of camping at our favorite state park, Douthat State Park here in beautiful Virginia.  Only about 1 1/2 hours from home, great sites and wonderful fishing.  But, DH and DD went on a mystery errand this afternoon.....hmmmm, wonder what that s all about?????

I hope all you Moms out there have a great Mothers Day whatever you do!

hbfc6Last weekend I went to the auction with the aunt and uncle (an every friday night thing for them) and I made the statement

" I think I am going down to the lake next weekend"  [:D]
my aunt quickly replies " WELL!! I just don t think you need to do that"  [>:]
" and just why not?"  I ask [:o]
she says all huffy " BECAUSE IT IS MOTHER S DAY!"  [:@]
I retort " BUT MY MOTHER IS DEAD!!"  [:o]
she says sarcastically " fine.......be that way!"  [:@]
I humbly say " fine I will come to your house........"  [:(]

And just to make sure I can t go she planned my cousins wedding reception for this friday night at the auction (he is the auctioneer)!!! I know she did that on purpose. She told me " oh I will need your help, you have to come up early Friday so you can help me" . So now I have to spend the weekend with her.  [8D]

hbfc6We had planned to go to a GLPUC meet this weekend, but Linda s daughter decided to get MARRIED[:@] and asked me to be the photographer. So we are stuck home, but I can get her back.  Maybe a few under-exposed pictures??[;)]

hbfc6If we weren t so busy & the weather wasn t so wet (can you say rain in the midwest???) I d love to be camping this weekend for Mother s Day!  In fact, my greatest hope is that it is dry enough on Sunday to pop up the camper to de-winterize & get it ready for our first outing on Memorial Day weekend.

hbfc6We went camping,[:D] took my MIL along. It only her second time camping. The first one was our maiden voyage last Mother s Day weekend. She did better this time. The weather was very windy the first day, winds upto 45 mph. We weren t sure we were going to stay after we setup. The winds died down around 7:00pm and beautiful the rest of the weekend. It did get cold during the night around 30 degrees, but days were in the 70 s and low 80 s. Even came home with a little sun glow on the face and a farmer s tan.[:)]. We are going again over Memorial Weekend. Can t wait!

Now I just have to do all the laundry today[: (] Oh, well, it was worth it.
