I ve asked this question on GLPUC & PUX boards.  Yet, no one is familiar with this unit.  Hopefully, I ll have better successs on PUT.[8D]

We just had this A/C unit installed in our PU. Our neighbor (an electrician) was helping us with an extension cord & wanted to know how much power is drawn from this unit. We couldn t find this information anywhere in the paperwork, installation instructions, or on the unit itself. Does anybody know the answer to how much power is drawn on this units?

 Peace be with you all.

DanusmomCamping world shows the following Tech Notes for a Coleman Mach 13,500 BTU:

Full Load Amps: 14.5 Cooling, 16 Heating with optional heat strip
Running Watts: 1595 Cooling, 1800 Heating with optional heat strip
 Weight: 92.5 lbs.
 Volts AC: 115
 BTUH: 13,500

I have a 50  10/2 WG extension cord I made to run my AC directly from the shore power.  I think Lowes has them already made up now for about $25.00  A good rule of thumb is to increase the wire size one gauge for every 50 feet of length.  I figure a 12/2 would carry the A/C fine but the bigger wire is just to be safe.

DanusmomThanks for the input, " PopupCop" .  I can t seem to find how many BTU s this unit puts out.  My husband arranged for the installation.  Apparently he didn t ask a lot questions & figured what the dealership would install would be " standard" .  Oy!  For the amount of money we spent & considering what a tightwad he can be, it really surprises me he didn t ask more in-depth questions.

The model # given on the paperwork is: 8333B671. It also says it is made by RV Products, A Division of AIRXCEL, Inc. The 1st sentence in the 1st paragraph of the " General Information"  section of the Operation & Maintenance booklet says, " These air conditioners were designed to operate from a 115 VAC, 60 HZ, 1 Phase power supply."

Anyway, a tech from RV Products replied to my inqury. This is his reply:

" The unit runs at 1690 watts and 14.5 amps. The starting surge is 1.5 to 2.5 times those numbers.
 I hope this helps."

Thought I d post this just in case someone else had the same question.  However, it is odd that I still don t see in any of the information how many BTU s this unit puts out.  Yet, it seems to work just fine.

 Peace be with you all.
