The Eagles (you know, Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Glenn Frye, Timothy B. Schmidt) just finished a concert tonight here in Columbia.  It was great.  They had a short intermission, but they played from 8:20 to 11:45 (WOW).  I d have to say that all the old music was good, but Joe Walsh really stole the show.  It was incredible.  Has anyone else seen them or is planning on seeing them on this tour?

Gamecock CamperI would love to see them.

Gamecock CamperI saw them at the Rose Bowl for the Hell Freezes Over tour.    Definitely worth the $$.

Gamecock Camper

Gamecock CamperYes it was worth the $$$.  We paid $85 per ticket, which really ended up being $100 per ticket after Ticketmaster added their fees and the FedEx shipping.......   Those were the medium priced tickets. The high priced tickets for this tour were $175 per seat..... and I am just not ready to pay that much for one evenings  entertainment......  Still,a good show.

Gamecock CamperChez, wasn t that the concert that had to be rescheduled to January, due to a Don Henley illness? And it was a rather cold and somewhat rainy night?

We had tickets, but, due to the weather, we gave the tickets to my Sister in Law, as we were both suffering from a bad cold, and didn t want to make it worse. We were pretty disappointed.[:(]

We were able to see Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, at the Staples Center. We ve seen CSN on their own several times, and really enjoyed them, however, Neil Young added a dimension that just blew me away!. Our seats were way up high, but looked directly down onto the stage. The sound was good, and we were in great company with some dear, long time freinds.

 What a night to remember!

Hey, we have similar taste...we were at that concert too and I must say that Neil Young was definitely the highlight...his voice and energy were amazing.  We were sitting behind the stage looking down at them...they were standing on an Indian rug, I felt like we were watching them perform in their living room.

Gamecock Camper[8D]   Yep... When we sat down at our seats, and I saw the way the stage was setup, with the rug, and the lamps, and Neil s old pump organ, I thought: Wow, I think we are in for a treat!.

Wife was apologizing up one side, and down the other, due to the location of the seats... but we were saying: " Hey, don t worry about it. We re here, and WHO KNOWS when we ll get this opportunity to see these four guys play together again."  And, of course, we weren t disappointed!

One of my good friends at work, was in the Marine Corp in the late 60 s, stationed in Honolulu. He saw CSN&Y and was blown away... one of my all time favorite albums (yep - vinyl), and now CD, is 4 Way Street from that tour. He said it was absolutely incredible.

As a teenager, me and my buddies would take weekend trips to Yosemite, getting off work on a Friday, and we d blast up there in my  79 Pinto going as fast as we could, windows down, and 4 Way Street cranked on the stereo. I m half deaf now... but those were some great times.

We recently saw David Crosby with his CPR band. Once at the Bridges Auditorium (strange, strange show, where they opened for Judy Collins, and the whole show didn t take off), and prior to that at Pasedena City College for a benefit for Crosby s grandson s school. That show rocked!

My other musical leanings include Steely Dan, and guitarist Larry Carlton. I m not sure why, but I think I kind of hit a time warp in terms of music, much of the stuff that I really like was before my time... some of the contemporary stuff after the disco scourge didn t do a whole lot for me... (i.e. Styx, Boston, Kansas, et. al.) I kind of liked stuff that had a little more edge, and in my opinion, a bit more intelligence in the music. Stuff that was over-orchestrated, or over-produced, didn t seem to make sense.

Oh well, enough musical rambling.... I really enjoy sharing...

Gamecock CamperWow, another one of my favorites is Crosby, Stills and Nash...... I saw them in Columbia the last time they rolled through.  I haven t ever seen them perform with Neil Young..... maybe there will be another chance someday.  Neil Young was in the Farm Aid show here in Columbia several years back at William s Brice Stadium (the Gamecock football stadium).... and there were several other acts that were really great.....Jewel and John (Cougar) Mellencamp really were good....  And Steve-O, you might like the newer STYX album called cyclorama.....
