Looking for opinions on whether this new 18V offering from Sears will work.  The specs seem right, and the price is very reasonable.

I got an 18V Craftsman 927124 at a very good price. I also paid an extra $30 for an extra 3 year replacement (better than just repair) warranty. Came with two Ni-Cad battery packs.   I got this model because the torque rating was 525 lbs vs the 380 on the one you looked at.  There didn t seem to be that big a price difference so I went with the heftier torque.

Will the specs are OK and I like the fact it comes with two batteries, charger and carrying case; I supect that it has a plastic gear set. Since 350 in pounds is the minimum need to raise a AC equiped roof you ll be using the drill at just about max torque in low range and this can lead to early gear set failure.
 The price is also attractive; but remember you get what you pay for and at only $89 it likely the quality for long life in a high torque application won t be there.
 I ve seen several drills in this voltage/torque range raise a PU roof, but they lasted for little more than a season before they self distructed due to plastic internal components.
