sandykayakSandy, you must have finally gotten around to finishing your AAR!!

 Is it [:@]?  or [:(]?

sandykayakWas just looking at buying screening for our EZUP. There are several sites online that sell all types & sizes of netting.  EZUp customer service could not (or would not) tell me the type of screening used - like hole size per inch or mosquito or noseeum size. Bought a quick shade screen and couldn t believe how poorly sewn it was and how large the holes are. Was impressed with Tlhdoc s screen room but hate to buy that when we already have the EZup to use and just want to screen in the sides. Sandy, what are you having trouble with? It it simply the bulk or the zippers or what? Also, what type of fabric and thread are you using for the borders?

sandykayaki wrote a lengthy reply last week and the must have pressed the wrong button and zap!

I m nearly finished and I did take a bunch of photos....just need to have them scanned and then see if I can dig up that page that aol gives me.

the first time I set it up and cut the front I had it down too low and now have to add some moore vinyl skirting (read: moire tablecloth).

You also have to make a skirt to go around the bottom side of the PU so the skeeters don t just saunter in by the tires.  Then I had to make an elasticized cut-out for the step.

I ve made the screen room in 3 parts.  I used sticky velcro but then had to go around and affix it permanently with thread - not easy sewing.

also, there was a strip of velcro along the front of the awning but I attached some to the sides - again sticky and then sew)....

I was then left with how to close off the sides so the skeeters don t get it.  right now i m in the process of sewing sticky velcro to the inside of the awning storage bag.

I attached ties to give support and tie the screen to the bar....that was before I read someone s idea about sliding it over the arms....but am wondering if that won t leave a gap all around the top.

Because I m not allowed to keep the PU on my property, I have to bring it over occasionally and work on it sporadically.

Am planning to use it at Markham Park (Broward Co. Fla) on June 6-8.  Email me if you d like to join us.

I use Gutermann thread and the screen (I KNOW it s not no see  um mesh size holes[:(]) cost me $20 for a 100  roll.  Not very wide, so you have to piece it together but it s a nice weight.

sandykayakgee sandy....i am definitly buying mine. ;-)

does anyone know of where i can get a good deal on carefree of colorado products????

sandykayak

 sandykayakTHAT s another sore point.

The cost of the Carefree for my size popup is not all THAT outrageous ($300 or so but then there are labor charges!!) but that would make me " work of art"  screen room obsolete...and I can t do that.

If you ve been reading the many threads on this topic, it seems as if the worst ones to tackle are the ones that are all in one piece.  I believe I read something that put me of Carefree, maybe this was it.

Jo Ann

sandykayakyeah...i think the screen room is one piece....but i still want to get it...unless i can find the rolls of screen big enough and cheap enough...

Jo Ann

sandykayakI found this site...but its still a bit more then i would like to pay for screening...but a third of the price of the screen room...sigh.

sandykayakwell after alot of searching...i will probably get the carefree campout screen room unless someone definitly comes up with good reasons not to...i think anything screenwize is gonna be the pits.

sandykayak

sandykayakwhy don t you start a new thread subject:  Colorado Carefree Screen Room?

Get some feedback.  Too bad you can t get a et-up demo before you order.

Jo Ann

 sandykayakmaybe i will...sounds like a good plan.
