 Live concert performance[:D]

Ok, get your minds back to where they should be!

Mine was, Jimi Hendrix, 1967, Will Rodgers Auditorium, Ft. Worth, TX.  I was 11 yrs old. Oops, gave that away, didn t I? Oh well.[8D]

 So what was yours?

Viking99

bikoleeHuey Lewis and the News. I think it was around 1988 at Riverbend Music center. I was 15 when I went.  Had a great time.

bikoleeThe Kinks when I was 16, then there was a Benny Mardonis concert.  About 10 yrs later...AC/DC in London (free ticket), then Western Flyer doing a free show, and last one was Riverdance here in KC...shows you how often I go to concerts.  I figure...buy the album, so much cheaper.

DC

bikolee1st was in June 1976.  Nazerath in Bismarck, North Dakota....Just outa High School.  Some chick puked on the back of my bell bottems....I washed it off with vodka sour from my bota bag! (I now drink Walkers Deluxe and water)

2nd was July 76  Fleetwood Mac in Billings, Montana.  The headlines in the Sunday paper when I got home said...." The Metra, Haven for Hashpipes"  and it showed a picture of the concert full of smoke.  Yes...it was more fun than legally allowed.  My parents baited me and asked how the concert was and I told them it was great.  Then I read the paper which was sitting on the kitchen table.

I come from a small town 250 miles from each of these places.  We drove home when it was over.

The last concert I was at was in Santa Fe, NM last Spring.  It was a group called Matchbox 20 which I never heard of.  Sounded good.  Caught a few whiffs of some Tijuana 2nd hand smoke, had three beers and fell asleep in my chair....I was tired.

 I m old aren t I.

bikoleeOh Boy! You are going to love this. It was, believe it or not......

My Oldest Sister wanted to go, and she couldn t find anyone to go with her and my folks said she could not go alone! So I being the Little good Brother that I am went with her. I guess I was about 10 years old at the time.[:o]

bikoleeblue oyster cult, decatur armory, oh bout 1970 i guess. i was...well, too young to drive! hah! totally freaked out the whole time though, saw a security guy that looked alot like the principal at our school(yeah, i know, how lame is that!) so i just stood there the whole time, eyes buggin out like one of those diva starz dolls hahhah.whew, those were NOT the good old days [;)]

Michicampers

bikoleeProbably the Detroit Symphony at Meadowbrook Festival, late 60s (?). Tony Bennett sang with them, and a guy that played a bass (?) flute - very cool concert, even though I was a kid.  Now if you mean my first live concert WITHOUT my parents [8D], guess that was probably Boston at what was then the brand-new Joe Louis Arena, around 1976. Don t think my hearing has ever recovered, but it was a great concert.

LittleRainmaker

bikoleeMine was the Carpenter s [: (].  I was in the 6th grade at the time though and they were pretty big.

Guess that goes to show how long ago that has been [:)]

bikoleeWow, I wouldn t think this would be hard???  The earliest one I can remember is Fleetwood Mac & I think I was about 20???  I might have been younger or a little older?

I remember the first concert I took my oldest daughter to, Michael Jackson back when he was wearing the " glove" , she was probably about 7 & then I took my youngest to a " Nick"  concert when she was about 8 and she saw Aaron Carter, she was in heaven.

bikoleeJoan Baez--Pauly Pavilion at UCLA--about 1970. Saw her in Berkeley in about 1988.

Also saw Elton John twice, Billy Joel once, Kenny Loggins twice, and Weezer.  Do you think that there might be a story behind the Weezer concert?  There was.

Miller Tyme

bikoleeDamn Yankees and Bad Company, Green Bay, WI the night Desert Storm started.
At the end of Damn Yankees set, Ted Nugent got out the bow and arrow and put one right through Sadaam s head, then the target exploded![:D]
The encores were " You can still rock in America"  and " Bad Company" .[;)]

bikolee

bikoleeWow, either all you folks is much younger than I, or I started early. But then again I was listening to the Stones in the 3rd grade. BTW, I was with some other friends at the JH concert. No parents.

Not even going to try to list all the shows I ve seen. But another memorable one was the original Traffic with Dave Mason.

wiininkwe

bikoleeWow, I m almost afraid to admit this!!!   My first live concert was Paul Anka here in Grand Rapids in about 1959 or  60.   He sang " Put your Head on my Shoulder" ,  and all of us little poodle skirters were so thrilled.
