QuoteMy 5 year old computer and my " dial up"  service makes a slow process.

Jacqui, my friend, let me help you out here:  Up toward the top right, click on " My Profile" .  Scroll down to the bottom where it lists three " Speed Options"  of " Don t Show smiley faces/images/avatars"   Check all three, or at least the second one, " Images in posts" .  Voila!  These things won t appear to slow you down.

Yes, I usually do use them sparingly, just thought this monumental event of SCC s formation warranted some extra hullaballoo.  I ll go back to sparingly, but a happy medium is to also tweak your " Speed Options"  settings in " My Profile"  as described above.  Good, yes/no?

Chez Way

 griffsmomJacqui,
Sign Chez Way up for this rally, minus one.  Jim will be there with the kids but I am off to New England for a long weekend with the girls (our annual round-up).

Chez Way

griffsmomCan we have site number 111?  Thanks!

griffsmomwell, we were looking forward to this one....halloween being one of my favorite holidays to decorate, anyway.  but i will be out of town w/ jeanne (Chez Way), so regrets, but we wont  be able to make it [:(]

 griffsmomHi Jacqui-

Hollypop here. Count us in for this rally, we ll take site 110 please. We can do t-shirts again, if we want to. You mentioned activities and coordination- I m not sure how many activities we ll need to have planned since VLR will have so much going on that weekend. One fun activity would be to set up a pumpkin carving table for the kids and their parents. We could probably download some Halloween coloring pages for the younger ones. Anyway, we ll figure it out.

We posted some photos from the last rally at http://community.webshots.com/user/dhhardman

Also- this weekend we drove through Yucaipa Regional Park- we have reservations for 4 nights there in August. This is about 10 miles east of Redlands, off the I-10, about 10 miles west of where the 60 meets I-10. Very cool looking park, if you haven t checked it out I m highly recommending it. Very nice sites with full hookups, very large sites, many of them pull through. There are several tiers of lakes for fishing and a big beach area with two waterslides and a nice patio area. This would be a great spot for a future summer rally, or for your own getaway. http://www.co.san-bernardino.ca.us/parks/yucaipa.htm

Could you take WebPage duties for this rally?  We ll be away from California from late September to mid October, so won t be around for the rally or the last minute Web stuff.

Great to see this coming together so quickly.

Thanks Holly, I have you down for site 110.

Pumpkin carving  sounds like fun.  We did that for my son s birthday.  We had a camping b-day party and gave each boy a pumpkin to carve.  They had a blast.

I will get the cg info from Lori the first weekend in June and will post the particulars to the rally.

Yucaipa Regional sounds like a real nice place.  Someone should put a rally together there.

griffsmomQuick post before I head off to bed:

Jacqui:  I reconfirmed the reservation for the sites and they have the paperwork ready to go.  I told them that you d pick it up when we re all there in June.  Details should be the same as for this last rally:  $33.00/night; $200.00 deposit received 90 days from arrival to hold sites; final confirmations of sites reserved 20 days before arrival.  They were pretty lenient with me, but I suspect that with a sold-out cg for Halloween, they won t be able to be so kind this next rally. [:(][>:][&:]

I m not that familiar with the Oaks, so we drove around before we left today and most of the sites are shaded.  Sites 99-105 do have a bit of a gully running behind them, so families with little ones (aka Griffin and Matthew) would probably be better off in a different area.  I didn t ask about the water slide, but it doesn t look like they ve made much progress on it since the last time we were there; same goes for the fishing pond they re making by the pools.  I wouldn  t count on either being up and running, even for the summer months.

Pumpkin carving sounds great; Griffin absolutley loved doing that with me last year!  Would each family bring their own pumpkin?  Last year, there was a pumpkin patch set up on the road driving in; maybe we could make a group excursion Saturday morning after breakfast and go buy them there?  We d also love to have t-shirts again--my rally t-shirt collection is growing nicely! [;)]  Thanks for offering to do that again, Holly and Dave!

As for the potluck, there isn t any real clearing in this area where we can stage everything.  Also, the tables at these sites are plastic picnic tables (with benches attached to the tables) and not the nice patio furniture like at Chardonnay Mesa.  [: (] Since the island sites (as I m calling 105-111) are longer, we could just span a couple of them and hold the pumpkin carving/potluck there.  Remember, as your Potluck Diva, I have declared this potluck to be a " Do the DO"  potluck, so if you ve got a DO (and we know who you are now from all the Mother s Day postings![;)]) start thinking about what you ll make in your DO.  We ll make Tamale Pie, unless we find another recipe that we love even more! [:D][;)][8D]

Okay, not so quick post, but I m still going to bed. [;)]

Oh yeah, we d like site 109. [:)]

Good grief I ll have to be careful what I say here! Hey, if you can get spaces we d love to see you in Yucaipa in August! We are in space 17, July 31- Aug 4. That s the only weekend they had available when I called on 2/24.  But reservations can be made up to a year in advance so we should keep this in mind for a rally next summer!  I will wagoneer it if necessary- next year!

darksidersEr, sorry forgot to sign off-
