 Looking for any feedback on making the dinette table, that Coleman provided with our 2003 Santa Fe, a stronger more stable table. I know everybody that has purchased a Coleman popup recently, has this same problem as we do. I realize that the existing table must be the same size so the cushions will fold down onto it but there must be a way to correct the legs......Thanks, Mike & Jane

 MrBuneezMike -
 Here is what we do to make the table more stable once it is set-up;
 Simply take an 18"  (I think) bungee cord and connect to both legs.  This " squeezes"  or pulls them towards each other.
 This makes the table surprisingly more stable.

 Red neff BarchettaThanks Jeff ......sure will give it a try.....Mike & Jane

 MrBuneezThe weakest link of the table is where the legs are mounted to the tabletop. They just slide through holes in a metal plate which offer no support at all and cause the lack of stability. The legs themselves are sturdy enough to do the job. I ve had the legs come out of the holes and I can tell you it s a bi#ch to get them back in tight. Probably was another invention of the brain behind the now defunct abs roof. [>:]

 MrBuneezWe just got back from out first time out for the season and my DW made more than one comment about how wobbly the table was.  I think I m going to look into this to see what things can be done to make a more sturdy table.  I am sure someone else has spilled their cup of coffee because of the wobbly table.  If anyone else has done an " upgrade"  on the table, please let me know.  If I find anything, I ll post it.

 MrBuneezOn our last camping trip, we discovered that one of the plastic pieces that attaches the leg to the bracket had ripped out. I fixed it by buying a 3/4 inch pvc cap and drilled a hole in the center of it. I attached the cap to the bracket and slipped the leg into the cap. The leg is 1 inch OD and the 3/4 cap is about 1 1/16 ID. The leg goes into the cap about 1 inch, so it aint gunna come out. I think I will do the other 3 that way before they get a chance to rip out on me.

 diggescampinThanks Terry & Ellen.....sounds like a winner for the problem. Will try it out...Mike  & Jane

 MrBuneezWe do what Red neff Barchetta does... we put a tight bungee between the legs to pull them together.  We ve never had a problem where the legs attached to the brackets but the bungee fixed it for us.

 MrBuneezOur Bayside had the same problem...the plastic piece broke out of the holder..not slipped out but broke.  From an earlier board I got the idea to drive a 3"  piece of wooden dowel rod into the tube and then screw the leg to that.  It has been working fine, but I suspect one of the other 3 legs to go sooner or later.

 Coleman s plastic pieces have been a problem.  The plastic pieces that connect the drawer rails to the back of the cabinets are a weakness too.  If you haven t broke a couple of those yet...you will sooner or later.

 But we are troopers...we love our Coleman...still a great camper.
