RE: How I hook up my breakaway switch

 The guy who installed my hithc informed me that the breakaway switch should be attached to somewhere other than the hitch. This is in the event of a complete hitch failure, the switch will definately be activated. Problem is, there was not a place on my Astro Van to hook it up, other than the hitch. So here s what I did:
 
  I bought four feet of 3/16"  braided steel cable and crimped loops on both ends. I attached one end to the cargo net hook inside the van. When I hook up the trailer i run the cable under the rear door out on top of the rear bumper. I connect it to the breakaway switch with a connecting link. When not in use, I coil it up and leave it on the floor in the van.
 
 Not a big deal but I thought it might be worth mentioning.
