On our last set-up, part of the U-shaped portion of the shepard s pole snapped off.  There was enough left to raise the roof but it wasn t very stable.  Does anyone know where we can get a new piece and if that part is threaded so it will screw in place or if it is held there by glue.  It doesn t have a screw securing it.
 Thanks for any help.

slowpezSusan, The one on mine is made from metal, and secured with pop rivets. So you have to drill out the rivets, and pop the new one on. But you will need a pop rivet gun. If you don t have one ($8?), I bet if you took it to the dealer, they would fix it right there, right then. Only about a 2 minute job. Especially if you had it up and waiting. [;)]

 Hi Susan!

On our last trip out, I accidentally twisted the shepard s pole as I was lifting the bunk end canvas and snapped our u-shaped plastic thingy on the end of the pole.  On Colemans, it is indeed plastic and is not held in by a screw or rivet or anything else.  We bought a replacement part from our dealer and then struggled like you-know-what to get the old broken piece out.  Once we finally did (think WD-40--and a lot of it at that) we removed the broken piece and then just pushed in the new one.  No problem!  The replacement part came in a set of two and my DH said he paid about $2.50 for it.

 Good luck!

slowpezThanks Lori and Gary.  Our pole is similar to Lori s in that it doesn t have rivets.  Sounds like a simple fix.  As always, the board came through with help when needed.
