RE: Gettysburg 2003

 At one time it there was a lot of discussion here, it appears that several folks from the PUT forum will be in and/or around Gettysburg during the 140th Anniversary of the battle.  I had stated back then that as the date closed in I would start a thread so those that have expressed an interest in possibly setting up a small get-together and meeting would have a collective place to do that....and here it is!
 
 We will be arriving in Gettysburg on July 2nd...reenactments (for me) scheduled for Friday and Sunday, and I will be leaving town on Tuesday morning (July 8th).  We are scheduled to stay at the Drummerboy Campground....and I know that rjs826 will be there, because we are camped next to (and thanks to) him.
 
 Saturday afternoon/evening is a possibility...but let s see what will work.[8D]

     I have a date for  sometime in Oct at Round Top Campgrounds. I love Gettsburg and was thinking about retiring there. Only live about 90 mins away, which is to far. Losted out on seeing Antietam last weekend due to the weather.
 
 Sure hope you have a great Time!
 
 Will be camping in upstate New York during this time frame. Sorry will not beable to see ya..

There are 4 families from Georgia coming in 6-28 and staying through the July 4th. We will all be leaving on that Sat the 5th. We are going to be staying at Round Top Campground. We would love to see yall if we can. You can email us at godom@chartertn.net

I have been to Gettysburg a few times while attending the National Fire Academy and found it to be a real honor to walk among the Hero s. May I suggest a visit to Little Round Top earily in the morning as soon as the park opens and walk in silence through the fog and look down onto the meadow below. You will walk way a blessed indiviual. Good Luck! and have FUN !
 
 
 P.S. Be sure to check out the tower at the end of ther park next to driving tour road. it s an over view of the battle.

We had hoped to go for the 140th, we were there last year and had a great, great time!!!   Unfortunately we won t be able to go this year.   There s so much to see and explore in the area and the reenactments and camps were unbelievable!  You ll all have a terrific time!

 Too bad!! It s not often that I get a chance to talk to a fellow Michigander[].  There will be plenty there at Gettysburg though, as I portray the 24th Michigan, and many of the guys that I will falling in with are from the Detroit area as was I....a LONG time ago.
 
 Well Starcraft Dad, it would have been great to meet you along with the others that that will be there, but I do understand.  I hope the move goes flawlessly and maybe some other time[].  
 
 I am sure looking forward to meeting many of the great PUT folks that CAN be there though, and tlhdoc we will save you place around the campfire if you d like!
 
 3 weeks from tonight we will be camped in our first overnight location in Nevada on our eastward trekk...getting excited.
