 Hello All,

Just wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of some good dutch oven recipes.  We recieved one as a gift and would like to use it on our trip in about a week.  Just don t have any idea what to cook in it.  Any suggestions are welcome.  Thanks.

syoungbloodNumber one.  Season your new DO.  If you don t everything will have a metalic taste.

Make your favorite cassarole dinner.  Four or five briquetts under a 10"  and six or seven under a 12" .  Put a solid ring or briquetts around the edge of the lid and you are good to go.

Or,  bake fresh bread.  Easier than it sounds.  Buy frozen bread dough, it will thaw out in the cooler.  Coat the inside of the DO and cover with oil,  roll the dough in the oil to cover.  Allow about two hours to rise, then bake with same coal arrangement as above.  BTW bring real butter for the fresh bread.  Even the most mundane dinner will seem like extraordinare fare with fresh bread.
