hbfc6I cook my bacon on the fire in a large flat pan I ll make out of doubled and folded heavy duty aluminum foil.   Once the bacon is done, the grease can be dumped in the fire (for more fuel  <G>) and the foil thrown away!   You d be amazed how many things you can cook this way.  I ll do most anything to keep from washing dishes!!! <snicker>

hbfc6I have one strong enough to do pop-corn.  I read several microwave cookbooks so it it is raining I can use it for meals.  It is even possible to make small amounts
of homemade soup and cakes in it.

hbfc6We dry camp so much, I never considered having a microwave.

We cook our bacon on our Coleman Grillin  Griddle. Makes the whole area smell like bacon!

hbfc6We used to do a lot of dry camping, but lately have been doing a lot more with full hook-ups.
Cottonwooder just went to the dark side, and was selling the small microwave she had in her popup, which we bought.
We used it constantly last weekend at the Gold Rush Rally, even Mrs. Memory Maker came over to heat something up in it.
Unfortunately as it s down low, my 2 year old, put a candy bar inside, with a foil wrapper and turned it on, for his own personal fireworks show[:o]
No damage done, but we have to keep it unpluged now!!!

hbfc6We don t have a microwave, but do take a Mr. Coffee, and an electric frying pan and if we re going on a long trip, like when we go to FLA for 4-6 weeks during the winter, I put in my toaster oven.   It works really well for lots of things.

hbfc6I have been tempted by the small sized ones and they could be a help sometimes, I am sure.  But even the tiniest ones are VERY heavy and I try to load our TM as lightly as possible so  have never seriously considered one.  Seems to me that some people with small children might find them very  useful if they have room to carry one and know they are going to have hook-ups where they are going
