My sisters and I will be camping at Tahquamenon Falls SP at the end of July.  There are two campgrounds there, and I would like a recomendation as to which campground would be best and any campsite numbers would be welcomed too.  Thanks a lot for any information.[8D][8D][8D]

HersheyGirlWe have not camped there, but have been to that park. Took a drive thru and from what we saw the Rivermouth section looked nice. Be sure to bring plenty of skeeter repellant, and be prepared for those dreaded big black flies. They love to munch on human flesh!
Oh, and how do you feel about climbing stairs? To view the falls there are probably about 250 ( this may be a gross underestimate!)

It s a great area and there are plenty of day trips to do, how long are you going to be in the UP? Things to check out around there are Whitefish Point, Seney Wildlife Refuge, the Big Spring,The Pictured Rocks isn t to far away either.
If you have any other UP related questions feel free to ask, it s one of our favorite destinations.

HersheyGirlWe camped at Tahquamenon last September, and plan to go back this Sept.   We stayed at the Lower falls campground.  We drove through the Rivermouth campground just to look, and  although it was nice, we prefered the Lower Falls campground.

This is a very nice campground.  We preferred the sites on the out  side of the loop.  But, when making reservations, they do not let you specify a site number.  If you go to the Michigan DNR website, you can see maps of the campgrounds.

HersheyGirlWe stayed at the Tahquamenon Falls- Rivermouth unit a couple of years ago.  It was peaceful and quiet.  It is not very close to the falls.   We drove thru the lower falls campground and we thought it looked a little crowded for us. We will definitely stay at the Rivermouth unit when we go again.  I guess that it would all depend on what your preferences are as to where you would stay.
