OK, as George Bailey said, " I m not a praying man"

Dw has been diagnosed with " Idiopathic Peripheral Neuropathy" .  Which means the doctors have no clue.  She has demylenation of the nerves.  We just got back from having a PICC line inserted.  She has to go in to the DR s office every day next week, for 4 -5 hours a day, for Gamma-Globulin treatments.  They did a spinal tap a few weeks ago and found proteins in her spinal fluid.

As I said before, I m not a praying man, but I do believe.

Please help us both with the power of prayer.  If the doctors can t stop this, she will be in a wheel chair within the next few years.  She is only 47.

bikoleeBill, just asking others to pray is having faith!  Even George Bailey prayed and belived in the end of the movie (my personal favorite!)  And if you notice - it isn t until he stops asking Clarence to help him and calls on God that it actually starts snowing and he returns to his current life!  (I may have watched this movie to many times [:D])
We will definately pray for your wife and you.  We also go to a prayer group Tuesday nights and we ll pray then too!  [:)]

 bikoleeBill~

I will think of her often as I have been going through a very similar experience for the past 2 years.

Sorry to get so involved here but... Would you mind me asking what the symptoms were that prompted the spinal tap?  My tap came back aslo with high protein levels, for unexplained reasons.  But the Dr. doesn t think it s MS... the typical thing people usually think when they hear demyenation.  My symptoms began with a " buzzing"  sensation in my head with a sensitivity to loud sounds. The buzzing isn t in the ears more in the middle of my head.  Also feels like a flutter.  Twitching nerves in the face, hypersensitivity of facial nerves to touch stimulous, progressing to twitching of nerves in lower extremities.  I also feel dizzy and headachey when lying down... feels like lots of pressure. I switch between extreme fatigue and insomnia.

Any of this sound familiar?  I have seen many specialist with no luck.  The most they have found is a couple (one large) venous angiomas in the brain, but they say those are not significant to my symptoms, saying many people have them with no symptoms.

bikoleeGot you both in my prayers!

B-flat

bikoleeBoth of you will be in my prayers.

Cindy, the symptoms you describe are similar to something I had about 6 years ago.  The buzzing, sensitivity to loud noises, dizziness and so on are possibly labyrinthitus or Meniere s disease.  If you have vertigo (dizziness and/or a balance problem when you lie down or stand up) most likely the Dr. will put you on medication.  This problem is difficult to diagnose so Drs. will put you through a lot of tests.  I hope what you have is only temporary and that you are better soon.  It took me about a year and a half to get back to normal again.  I thought I would never be well, but prayer and lots of determination helped me seek out the proper treatments.  Keep me posted.

bikoleeBill, it goes without saying that you and your family will be in the minds, hearts and prayers of a lot of very powerful people (those who believe) and will stay there as long as it takes.
