This came with my Taos...  It s a big grey thing that hangs near the front bunk... supposedly used to store clothing, etc.

Does anyone out there have one and actually use it?

Any tips on how to fold it?  (I ve read the instruction page... it seems like it should fold up into some sort of tote thingy... )

 Thanks,

GeorgeWe just lay it flat on the bed when we close everything up.  Put al sorts of things in it.  I think it d be just as useful at half the size, however.

GeorgeOur daughter uses the camper caddy as a duffle bag and uses it every trip. If you fold it correctly (and you have to mess wiht it for a while the first time to get it right), it will close up and have a carry handle.

It works out great for her clothes, which are obviously smaller than ours, and all her little sundry items.

George

GeorgeThanks Kathy.  But how do you fold it to get the duffel?  Are the instructions anywhere close to being correct?

 Thanks

GeorgeI don t know if there are instructions for it.

We roll it up and then slide the clips down (make them shorter). There should be three receiving end clips for them to go into to close the rolled up bag. You ll also notice an extra clip and receiver on the two outside clips. Put together, these form the handle.

It pretty hard to explain. I had to mess with it once or twice to get it just right.

GeorgeYes we have 2 and use them and we roll them up.  We used to clip them but some of the clips have pulled out on the one caddie.  The two caddies we have are made of different material.

GeorgeWhen I bought my Utah, it came with a package that included the caddie, sheets for both king-size beds, the fold down vanity shelf, and a clip-on fan light. I used the caddie to put my clothes in the first time I used the camper. However, I sleep " crosswise"  with my head toward the front of the camper. That meant the caddie was right in front of my face! I used the straps and clips to fold the bottom up so I could see under it when I was in bed. But then my clothes would fall out of the pockets that were upside down.

I finally gave up on it and got three Steri-lite drawers!

I keep thinking I ll give it another try--seems like it would be a handy place to store odds and ends so they don t end up on the floor, the table, the couch, etc., but I don t like it hanging down in front of my face!

You can get a new mounting kit for it and install the clips on the other bunk so it will not be where you sleep.

GeorgeWe also were given one with our PU.  After using it several times, the clip on the camper itself came out.  Guess we overstuffed it.  Too bad because we found it useful to keep all kinds of stuff in.  I know we could have had it fixed but it seemed to be too much trouble to take it back to the dealer for just that problem.  Maybe we ll get it fixed when we have to take the PU in for something else.

Moving it is a possible option...but then the person sleeping in the other bunk might not like it! [:)]

GeorgeThe mounting kits are easy to use and install yourself- just need a screwdriver OR you can request rivets if you have a rivet gun.

I ve seen people put the camper caddy over to the sides of the camper, not in front of the bunkends.

In the Utah, there s a spot over the cabinet, directly across from the galley that would make a good spot to hang a camper caddy. It would, however, block a small window.

labontefan

GeorgeThe vanity shelf hangs there, plus we put the microwave on that cabinet.

Probably the best thing to do, if I want to use it, is just to move it toward the back of the camper. That way it would be in front of my feet instead of my face.

 Thanks for all the suggestions!
