Anyone know where I can get one of those two-burner outdoor high-pressure stoves like the ones that come with the Coleman PU s and about how much they cost?  Coleman website does not offer them as an option, thus not priced, as they either come with the model or are N/A.  None of the catalogs (Camping World, etc.) list them.  The stove only says that it is manufactured by " Vitco Mfg"  and I found their website but no response to my email.  Internet search produced nothing.  Would like to have one or one similiar for my Rockwood.

Anyone have one for sale or know of something else that might fill bill?

MtnCamper

WayfarerI suppose if you are desperate you could get one from a Coleman Dealer ($$$$$). Ouch!

Or how about a Coleman Stove? They run on high pressure (same as the green bottles). Then build a bracket on the side of your camper??? Or use a roll up table.

Wayfarer

WayfarerThanks for the suggestion...but don t know that I m that desperate.  Maybe Ill just steal one out of....nah, wouldn t do that either...would I...?  Naaah.

WayfarerList a Wanted Item in the classified section here on PUT.  Maybe somebody selling one for parts.  I came close to keeping mine from the Niagara when we sold it, almost wish I had now too.  Call a Coleman dealer, tell you need a replacement for a 2002 Coleman Niagara and see what the cost is.

WayfarerThere are some RV salvage yards around. I got good responses from several when we were looking to reeplace the metal sink in our Sedona with a white one from a Coleman Grand Tour camper.

I ve seen a couple of outside high pressure stove on ebay, here and there, but they are scarce there.

Try an internet search onRV salvage yards and maybe email a few.

 good luck

 WayfarerWayfarer,
Did a quick search and came up with a couple sites that may help.  If you buy a salvaged/used unit, don t forget to make sure it comes with the matching bracket that mounts on the PU.  Hope this helps.

Those small propane bottles are low pressure, not high. They probably wouldn t even give off enough gas to light the stove, even if the couplings fit.

MtnCamper

jawilsonActually I believe they are high pressure. No regulator, Your lantern will burn off a green bottle or a 20 lb. bottle. A Coleman grill or griddle will burn either. You can (I don t) refill the green ones, directly from a 20 lb. bottle. So I would assume that they are also high pressure.  That s why you have a regulator on the grill or stove.

WayfarerFYI, there are actually three pressures. Low pressure at about 11 inches or less than 1psi, high pressure which is apx 11 -13 psi, and tank pressure which runs around 250 psi.  1pound, 20 pound, 30 pound and those big 100 gallon home tanks all are tank pressure until regulated.

wahoonc

WayfarerThey defintely be high pressure and you don t want to know how I found out[:o][:@]It involved a back hoe, twice on the same day nonetheless[&:]

WayfarerI agree they are high pressure.

Wayfarer

WayfarerFYI: Found that Vitco Mfg is the maker of the Outdoor High Pressure Stove that comes with the Coleman.  Sent them an email and they sell them for $79.00 for 2-burner and $89.00 for the 3-burner (add $10.00 shipping).  Their email address is " mailto:customerservice@vitco.com"

QUESTION:  Should the propane hose/outlet on the Rockwood for the RV-Q grill deliver the proper amount of pressure for the outdoor high pressure stove?  I know I ll need to change a fitting so they will mate, but does the " high pressure"  part have to do with the way the stove is made or the way the hose, etc., is connected to the source or...?
