Folks,

YellowXterra wrote the following in another Thread.

" " I drove over 1500 miles last week and seen lots of pop ups on the road but never did see a PUT s sticker any where. Were you all hiding" "

Now I need to ask if we all are ashamed to show that we belong to this club or just to lazy to post a sticker on the pop-up or TV. This has been one of my pet peeves. I have requested new stickers from Steve of the ARVEE sticker and received them. So they are Available. POP-UP Times sticker are also out there.

My sticker is on my spare tire cover in open view.

Now, I ask you why is it we do not show our club at the campgrounds? Again we as a club do not have nothing to show we are club members at the campgrounds... Any comments/ideas ?

whitestar505We have the regular PUT bumper sticker on the spare tire cover (along with an old alt.rv.pop-up-trailers sticker).  We have another PUT sticker and the Arvee sticker that we haven t applied yet (but plan on before our first trip out).

Frankly, I am surprised that there are not more accidental meetings.  But when I started thinking numbers, it wasn t as hopeful.

There are less than 500 paying members (probably less than 250).  How many campgrounds are there in the US?  It s got to be over 5,000 (maybe several times that many).  Using the 500 member number and the 5,000 campground number, that would mean 90% of all campgrounds don t have a single Arvee member on any given weekend.  And that assumes that 100% of us are camping on that weekend, definitely not the case.

Sadly, the fact is that we are only a very small slice of the pop-up community.  I think we re the best slice, but still a small one.  In fact, we are a small slice of PUT magazine subscribers, who themselves are a small slice of pop-up owners.

Far more frustrating is the few times that PUT stickers have been spotted on the highway, the person spotting posts here, and the " spotted"  person never fesses up.

Austin (still looking for his first random PUT or Arvee sticker)

All the more reason for posting our stickers. In fact most popup owners do not know we exist.

whitestar505We put our stickers on magnets and they are attached to the rear of our TV and our minivan (too small to two anything).

Our old PU didn t have anyplace to put the magnets, but now that we have the new PU, we re planning on putting a magnet on the bumper.

I d like some of the ARVEE stickers, I didn t know any were available.

whitestar505There are at least two possibly three PUT stickers on our PU.  And I have looked diligently every time I see a PU on the road or in a campground and have never seen another sticker.  I think, too, that we are so few compared to the PU owners in the country and Canada, that it will be a rally or a lucky accident that will bring us together.   But I never stop looking.

 angelsmom10angelsmom10,

All I did was write Steve and asked if they had some and in the mail it came..

" " We put our stickers on magnets and they are attached to the rear of our TV and our minivan (too small to two anything)." "

How do you attach the magnets to the sticker. Glue or just the sticky stuff itself?

angelsmom10

whitestar505In the craft stores, you can buy a magnet sheet (8x10 pprox).  I would lay out on the back where to put the sticker (use 2 of the sides to avoid having to cut out that side) and then trace around the sticker.  Cut it out and peel off both backs and attach sticky to sticky.

Sometimes if we remember, when we get to CG s, we put the stickers on the front fender that faces the direction of traffic.

DH would never allow me to put ANY sticker on the TV so I came up with this many years ago as a quick solution.

You can get 2-3 stickers per sheet, so you have to be careful about peeling off too much of the magnet, unless you are using the whole sheet.

 angelsmom10angelsmom10,

Hey, that is a great idea! Thanks for sharing it with us.[;)]

whippetwrun

whitestar505the one our truck is always getting looked at by other drivers.  A couple have even slowed down to get a better look and when they passed, I have noticed a tow bar on the back of their vehicles. (it s also the only bumper sticker on the my truck)

whitestar505

 whippetwrunHey Whippetwrun,

Were you not to go to the rally this week? Are you there?

whitestar505A few weeks ago I camped with a...umm...shall we say... " defector"  and he said, " Oh, I see you still have a PUP sticker on."

Jeffrey

whitestar505We used to have one on each side of the PU, but we now only have one on the back. I felt like a rolling billboard, So now I m harder to see.[&:]

But, I have never seen one on the road (except when I was going to camp with PUT members) and I probably won t. The numbers just aren t in our favor.

I think there are only 4 PUT ARVEE members in MN.
So the chance of seeing one of us on the road isn t very good.
We have a local group, but didn t check for stickers last weekend.

If you had checked ~ you would have seen one on the front and one on the back of mine, Jeff!  Guess that makes me the rolling billboard in MN, huh? [;)][:D][:)]

Jeffrey

whitestar505K, I meant I had one on each side (4) not just a whimpy 2.

I did t need one on the front, cause I had my PUT hat on!

OK, did you check anybody else s trailer? So we know there are two of us with PUT stickers in MN.

Maybe we should drive by each others house, So we can say we saw a PUT sticker.[:D] You better call first though, so I can leave my garage door open.[:)]

Or maybe we should schedule a time, and drive on I35 E. You go south, and I ll go north. Then we could say we saw one on the road.

Kelly

JeffreyJust head for Imperial, J ~ you can see mine in the parking lot there for the next 2 weeks [:(][:(]

Good thing you live in such a nice neighborhood ~ leave the garage door open...  I ll swing by, post something here and then you can admit that it was yours! [;)]
