 tlhdocHey all!

I have never heard of " renting"  the Loop 6 pavilion in the 30 years I have been going up there......  usually, if it s empty we just use it.  At least that s what we did for my 7th, 10th, and 12th birthday parties!  [:)]

I don t see a need to get another site just to have a pot-luck because we got all the good sites in Loop 6 already.  If the pavilion is in use (which I don t think it will be because: 1- it s so early in the season, and 2- we have almost the entire loop reserved) but if it IS in use, we can just walk about 100 steps to the beach where there are tons of picnic tables and those park style BBQ grilles.  There is also a nice fire pit close to gia s site that we can use with a nice view of the lake.  We can just carry over some picnic tables to that area.  As a last resort - we can use the area between DiW s site and mine - we both have a nice open spot right on the lake.

Anyone have any other questions -  fire them my way!!  [:D]

 tlhdocHey Rick,
I sure hope you re working nights this week. 3am? You re worse than me [;)].

Your suggestions for the potluck sound good to me. Especially the one where I don t have to go anywhere [:D]. Actually a covered pavilion would be good in case it rains (which seems to be the case whenever we get together). Should we tell the newbies we bring bad luck or let them find out on their own?
 Di

 tlhdocMEA CULPA....

When I saw the reference to " Public Pavillion" , I applied the local mores (which is the pavillion needs to be reserved/rented in advance).   We had done this at Northampton State Park for a clam bake one year -- was rather pricey unfortunately.

I m glad to hear it won t be the case at N-S Lake -- even happier to hear that there s a nice fire pit and view of the lake from my site 180 !  I d be more than glad to have everyone congregate for the pot luck.

Sorry guys & gals, my first instict is to be an " organizer"  and check out all details (it s what I do for a living so it s kind of ingrained).  I promise I will be more relaxed as you folks seem to have it all under control (I generally  wet nurse  a crew of construction guys who have no clue, so it s nice to deal with competent people for a change).[;)]

Gia you haven t met us yet [8D], but thank you for your faith in us.

It is nice to see you looking for trouble spots, so don t sit back keep planning.[:)]

Di, maybe we should warn them, they may want to bring the rain gear.[:D]

tlhdocrain gear, definitely !!  Each and every trip I took last year rained.  Not during the day at least, but nights and with the added bonus of thunder & lightning (which I HATE).

So since I m planning on coming, you can count on the rain as well [:D]

PI

tlhdocGee, My DH and I only know the snow dance but we don t know the how to make it stop raining dance! It sure sounds like we are going with s bunch of  campers who bring the rain with them......Maybe we should rethink this trip huh? Maybe it won t rain on OUR site! [;)]

tlhdocEven though I will not be joining you my heart is with you all. I wish I could be there but can not for many reasons. Sure hope the weather is good for you all .[:)]

 tlhdocImportant Information
Road construction and paving will be taking place on Loop roads between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM from 5/2/03 to 6/30/03. We apologize for any noise/inconvenience.

 As seen today on ReserveAmerica

copcarguy

tlhdocWOW!!  That is some new information...  The Loop roads really DO need to be paved though.  Well, I hope they pave them in order - Loop 6 is the last one (farthest into the park).  It goes: 7, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.  We ll see!

tlhdoc

tlhdocI bet they don t pave on the weekends.  That will be good for us, but bad for Copcarguy.[:D]

PI

tlhdocGuess there is no way to find out which loop they will be doing when? Does that mean that they will be working Sat and Sunday too? It is a 5 hour drive for us. Don t know if I would want to get there and listen to noise all day. What is your feeling on this? PI

 tlhdoc,
Didn t see your post ahead of mine re: Paving on weekends. Hope they don t!!!!

tlhdoc

tlhdocRick did you get my email about the shirts?

tlhdoc

tlhdoc[&:]  We lost one for the trip.  I sent Suzone an email about the tee shirts and she sent an email back saying they can t come on the trip.  Her DH has to work.

kathybrj

tlhdocOh, too bad about Suzone! [:(] I hope we don t lose any others.

We have a member of PUT that, I recall, lives in VT. I sent him an email and he said he d look into it, but it may conflict with other plans his family has.
