Gone-Camping

Funny thing, I was at the local Coleman dealer yesterday, and took a walk through of the Coleman Caravan. I ve looked at them before, but this time I was able to compare it more closely to my Trail Cruiser.

I notice a couple of things right off that didn t really catch my attention when I was " shopping"  around. The entry door on the Coleman is much wider than on my Trail Cruiser, I really like that. I also liked the built in high pressure stove that just folds down on the outside, self storing and perhaps more useful than the RV-Q Grill that I got.

But perhaps more important was the size of the bathroom! It was huge compared to my TC, almost full size tub and enough room around the jon to NOT feel cramped. The hard sided bunk end was nice too!

Down side was no rear bunk end, but it did have bunk beds (or big closet instead, saw both versions). Bottom line is, it weighs too much, I couldn t pull it with the Jeep if I wanted to, it weigh s empty what mine weigh s fully loaded....[: (]

Gone-CampingI agree with you about making sure you re comparing apples with apples.  I saw some trailers that really took my eye and made me drool, but when I looked at the weight and considered that I would have to get a new TV, etc., etc., I decided to stay with an ultra-lite hybrid.  It pays to shop...and then to compare...then to just back off and think about it for awhile.

Gone-CampingThe weight is a big issue too, as if the many Coleman PopUps are not heavy enough the Caravan is a beast.

I really liked some of the features of the Caravans, and I do think Coleman s fit & finish is top notch, but the really none of the floorplans fit our family needs.

Just happy there is choice out there... we found what we needed.
