we had a major misshap with our unit, the screw that held the back bunk bracket on, broke, and our guest went down and out. it was very upsetting to say the least.  the canvas held the bunk and ripped slowly so the drop was slow. I got a hold of starcraft and gave them an ear full, and within 48 hours we got the bracket fixed and a brand new canvas installed.  It seem that the screw was defective and the head just snapped off.

I have a ear full to give to the representives at starcraft when we go to the rally in middle of month. and get the factory tour!!!!

if you ever have a camper problem in the Allentown PA area go see Terry at TOM SCAEFFER" S RV  they were great! in and out within an one hour, all fixed

dee106I m glad Starcraft saw fit to take quick care of you after the mishap. Bear in mind that Starcraft didn t make the screw, it simply was one of millions that they bought, and probably had no clue it would fail like that. Don t be too hard on them, they did you right in the end!!! [:D]

dee106i agree it was a mishap the was the screw that snapped, but i think they need to look at the bracket construction, it is only two screws that hold the bracket inplace it should be a plate with four screws

dee106I m a bit amazed that such a weak point is held by just one screw.

Glad everyone is okay and that they took care of you.

Y-GuyJust a reminder to be sure you insert the tip of your support poles *all the way* into the bumper receptacle. I think I forgot to do that on my popup a month back and the tip bent, collapsing the pole. Fortunately, the other one held up the bunk, but it was disconcerting because Sactotoddler was getting a diaper change when this occurred. I bought a replacement pole and all went fine at the Gold Rush Rally.

dee106the { bracket  is held on by two screws, and one screw broke, and the bracket turned sideways and the pole went down.  such an important piece should have more then two screws it holds alot of weight.

dee106we had the same thing happen to our Palomino, the pole popped out and the fiberglass even got cracked.

Everything was replaced under warranty but I wasn t impressed we had to go through the event in the first place.
