Ok guys, this is one of those thinking of you requests.

Brian lost his job today.  Now thankfully the job market isn t quite as depressed in the mechanic/equipment mechanic field, but at any rate, another job didn t present itself today, and the places he checked couldn t tell him if they were hiring or not.  He s already started the application process with quite a few, and registered with the employment agency, and signed up for unemployment.  I don t think he qualifies for the unemployment, but hey, doesn t hurt to try.

As some of you know, our family has also grown by an 18 year old and a one year old in the last year.  Unfortunately our income didn t grow in proportion, so this will be a tough time for us.  Looks like the kiddos will get some extra Daddy time if he doesn t find something by the 11th, but we ll muddle through, we always do.

You guys be thinking of us, and hoping that he gets another job soon.

 Thanks...

startxYou are not alone. It seems to be a fact of modern life that most jobs do not last a lifetme anymore. Keep you head high and hopefully in 6 months he will have a job which he likes better. Good luck.

startxBarbara, your news  sure brings us back to the economic realities of today in a hurry.  Fortunately, as you said, Brain IS in a field where  people with his skills are needed. so he will surely find something  to do.  The only question is finding a " good match"  with a decent salary  and that may take time.  This is a tough situation for a guy to be in, but  he can give the kids some extra attention while he has some spare time, and that s not a bad thing at all.  I ll keep you-all in my prayers and I know your other buddies here will, too.

startxI spent ten months out of work in 2002.[:(][:(]

When I went back to work, it was at a 38% pay cut.[:(][:(]

But, we have always had what we needed.  They key thing is to accept the situation, take it one day at a time, be (and look) positive, and do something every day towards re-employment.

At least you were able to get one with a pay cut.  DH is unemployed again (almost 4wks now) -- this is the 3rd time in the past 3 years (laid-off).  He is always told you are over qualified (too high a salary) he says make me an offer, he s willing to take a cut in pay just to keep getting paid and to have benefits.

 Now pursuing other fields.

Good Luck to all unemployed -- hope everyone has a job in the very near future.  We  re with you in the same boat -- just a paddlin  away.[:(]

startxThanks everyone, we re keeping our spirits up, and just cutting all the luxuries even more than we have been on expenses.

Good luck to everyone else that is out there looking, hopefully we all have results soon.

It s sure been a tough year, with just lots of things going wrong, but there have been good times too.
