I realize that this has probably been covered before but I am going to ask again.  I went camping June 28 thru July 7, and it was Hot!!  I am planning on ordering an air conditioner from RV Addons but what type, BTU should I get and how do you install this without water leaks?  Thanks for the input.

Joe BuskirkWell your PU s AC ready so it s remove the roof vent and install the AC unit. Follow the instructions carefully on bolting the unit down and you won t have a problem with leaks.
Myself I prefer the Carrier units, stick to the most common 13.5K btu unit as if something (god forbid) does happen you can get it fixed in more places.
I ve found since they do weight upwards of 100 pounds it best to have a friend around for placement and limit the beer consumpsion till after it s working.
Been there with FIL and spent 3 days fixing his " work" .

Joe BuskirkI do have a Air V Carrier a/c and my a/c was dripping water from the vents.  Because the unit is only 3 months old, I thought let me call Carrier and find out an authorized dealer for it.  I bought the pop up with a/c from a dealer in PA.  I did not want to take it back to PA and drive 2 1/2 hours.  Well looking at the Carrier web site I started to contact the authorized dealer in the northern VA area and everyone I contacted told me they will not touch the unit, because difference reason, the closest place to take it was or Richmond, VA, or Virginia Beach.  But the customer service for Carrier gave me a solution that I need to try before I go to the next step for driving the pop up back to the dealer.  Hopefully the solution will work.  Finger cross/

Joe BuskirkI would get a 13,500 btu unit.  I t will need to be  on a 20 amp circuit. So you might want to keep it on it s own cord. And don t plug it into the same outlet as the one your camper is pluggged into.

What is the fix?  Insulating inside the housing?

I plug my AC into the 20 amp circuit in my PU.  I haven t seen a power box at a campground that has an extra 20 amp plug. The only time you will have problems is if you are going to use an appliance like a microwave or toaster oven.  If I did use one of them I would plug it into their own 15 amp outlet at the box.
