We were in the Malone, NY area over the 4th.  On the way up, while there, and on the way back, we saw a lot of Airstream travel trailers.  I mean a lot.  We saw them on I-89 near Burlington (as many as four in a row), all heading North.  We saw them on I-87 between Plattsburg and Rouse s Point, NY, all heading North.  We saw many on US 11, all heading West.  At one point on the 4th (Friday), we could see 5 Airstream TT s at one time on US 11...all heading West.  We were at an ice cream stand (where we saw the 5 simultaneously) for maybe 25 minutes, and never had more than 5 minutes without at least one Airstream go by.  Most of the time, there was at least one in sight.  In the same time, we saw 1 pop-up, 1 Class-A, one other TT, no 5th wheels, and 1 truck-back camper.

We saw them on Route 37, Route 122, and Route 30.  We saw them in Malone, Saranac Lake (sp), and Lake Placid.  It was like a mighty army all heading for the same destination.

If I had to guess, I would say we saw 65-70 Airstream travel trailers.  In the same time, we saw maybe a dozen pop-ups.

Is there some kind of Airstream convention or rally going on in far Northern New York or Southern Ontario near Malone, NY?  Anybody know?

AustinBostonI wouldn t be surprised. They do hold their rally over the 4th weekend.
Last year or the year before (not sure), they had it in Souix Falls SD.

We drove throught the field they held it in, It was a sea of silver.
No idea how many were there, but it was huge.

Looks like they had one in VT round the fourth?
Not sure if that s it? http://www.airstream.net/
Did a search and a whole list of sites about different rallies came up.

Wonder if PU rallies will ever get that big?
I imagine all the PU s would way out number Airstreams.

AustinBostonWherever they were, it was over by Saturday, the 5th! We too saw " dozens"  of them heading south on I-87. We were camping in the Lake George/Schroon Valley area.[:D]
