I ve got all the connectors, fittings, and pvc to make a sink vent mod.  Most I ve seen have the height of the vent going above the sink.  In the new PUT magazine, it shows a very low vent.  Does it have to go above the height of the sink inside the pu?

Also, my shower drain.  It s a larger outlet, so I m guessing it shouldn t need to be vented.

 Thanks for any help
 Cheers

I would recommend going above the height of the sink for one reason.  If a clog develops somewhere in the line (after the vent), a lower vent will overflow and spill grey water.  If the vent ends above the sink, it will just prevent the sink from draining.

Check out " Oz&US"  pages, Nobody wants a sink to drain faster then Bill!
He was nice enough to build me one of his custom adapters and it sucks the water out of the sink so fast!
He just finished another one that I don t think is pictured yet but I think the vent doubles as an overflow into a second gray water tank!
 He is the best!

I don t know that this is the solution either. Don t know that there is a perfect one. Instead of worrying about vent height, why not just do away with it? The one Oz uses seems to be the best solution I ve seen so far. Vent the grey water tank and use bigger drain pipe. 1 1/4"  fits nicely and drains, as Don said, quickly.

GiffsterUsing a 1 ¬ drain tube is nice if you have a new camper and it s equipped that way. Converting the existing drain to 1 ¬ would be a big project. The drain  vent  does a very nice job of getting the existing set-up to work properly. The vent I have is sink high, and has worked great, sink now drains with a " whooosh" ....
and cost me about $10 to make it!!!

GiffsterDummy me didn t get the swivel type connectors.  Already tossed all the packaging, so I just won t glue it at certain points.

GiffsterThats how mine is. It press fits together at one key place. Since it s a drain and not under pressure, it doesn t leak anyways. I think a swivel might actually hinder you somewhat by allowing it to move when might not want it to move?!?!
