WayfarerI would probably venture to guess the battey has suffered, with a couple total drains. What I would do at this point is charge it, well. Then take it somewhere and get it tested, under a load. My guess is if you replace it, your problem will go away.  You said after 30 minutes the lights had a glow, did they before, or were they gone? The 30 minute thing, leads me to believe the battery is toast. At least you got some power now, and not blowing fuses, so we are gaining.

always pulls the break away switch .....

I pull mine too, a couple times a year, just to make sure it still comes out. Then immediately it goes back.

  • This morning the battery seemed to be charged up, at least it read about 8-10V on the Volt/Ohm meter.
Wayfarer, This should read above 12.5V. I think you started out with a dead (almost) battery.

MtnCamperI believe the Battery is toast also.
Draining it completely a few times destroys it.

My breakaway switch has a tag on it specifically warning not to use it as a parking brake.

Wayfarer, hope you have got to the bottom of the problem, and a replacement battery will solve  all the problems.
