We went to Gordons Campground which is located 6 miles north of Kendalville In. We had a nice time we went with the glpuc members. They have a nice pool, basketball hoops, put put golf, nice pavilions with fireplace and lights, several playgrounds. For a private campground it s pretty big. I liked the place and will go back. There are seasonal campers but are located around the edge of the campground. The grounds were well maintained and the Hosts were very nice.

and have to add that they were extremely accommodating to us (free firewood for the group and high tolerance of our late nite campfire music).

Gordon s doesn t assign sites -- there are plenty of electric and water connections all around.  It s organized in three major areas -- we were assigned to a huge spot at the top of the CG, nearest a large pavilion.  There s a loudspeaker system which notifies you of upcoming scheduled activities (typical: hayride, pool games, scavenger hunt).  Although we preferred hanging around the campfire with the GLPUC, there is a Saturday night hayride for ADULTS ONLY.  They ll keep your kids for a few hours and transport you a local pub and back!  What a deal.

The shower house was moderately clean and almost always available.  The site we were assigned had a few open areas, a few muddy areas, and many treed areas.  It s hard to explain, but you can pretty much pick out your spot and set up camp -- great for groups who aren t concerned how close/far they are from each other.

Overall, not sure I d return to Gordon s because of the killer drive to west Chicago suburbs.  If I were on the other side of 90/94, I would -- if only to sign on for the Saturday night Adult Hayride!
