We use bag but I am thinking block might be  better???

jpreiserI also keep 3-4 quart size juice bottles, with screw-on lids, in the freezer.  Carry a couple of these in the cooler as well. Helps the ice last longer and gives me a source of ice water when I need it.

jpreiserWe typically use a combo of two of the above. We usually freeze a few juice containers full of water before leaving home, and throw in a couple of Blue Ice paks.Availability often dictates what we purchase when we are on the road.

jpreiserSince there are some who may use more than one, you might want to change the poll to allow multiple selections.  There s a check box near the top somewhere for that...click the " edit poll"  button then allow multiple selections.

We use bag ice and ice packs.  Bag ice can be worked in and around items, and ice packs tend to be a little colder (depending on material) and are denser, so they last.  They also don t get water all over everything.

 jpreiserI use the frozen kind.

Actually, I use four frozen blue ice blocks on the floor of the cooler then two bags of 7-pound bag ice. Usually does the trick for a weekend, unless it s 105 degrees like it was last weekend.

jpreiseri have thought about block ice...but havent a clue where to find it...but bag is i think lets you put more stuff in your cooler than block

jpreiserI like to freeze water in some bottles from flavored water - they are just smaller than 2 liter.  When they melt we have more cold water to drink.

jpreiserOther or combination! I freeze some water in1/2 gal milk jugs and put those in the bottom, then pack the food in, then throw a bag of cubes on top! Works very well.

jpreiserWe use both.  They don t sell block ice where we live so I have to freeze my own water.  Sometimes I don t get it done so we just use regular ice.
