We have an unusual & ongoing problem with our Starcraft... it is " gook"  running down the sides!  It is a rusty/brown color, and it seems what is happening is " rusty screws" ... somehow, when it rains water is getting in between the roof and the rubber seal, and the screws in there are causing a rusty/brown  gook"  to run down the sides of the camper.  My husband is spraypainting the screws, and he is going to re-install them and see what happens.

HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS PROBLEM?  If so, what did you do about it?  Did it WORK?  We re getting frustrated -- even WITH a " water-resistant"  cover on the PopUp, a little rain gets through, and we get gook all over again!  And when it rains at the campground........

Thanks for any help you can provide!  By the way, this is our first Summer camping with our PopUp, and we just completed our 3rd weekend (a 4th one was TOTALLY rained out earlier this year - remember all the rain in May & June?).  We have one more weekend planned, too!

my4cutiesIf you are sure the problem is rusting screws, I would probably replace them rather than paint them.

Take one to Lowes or Home Depot and get matching screws in stainless steel; no rust[;)]

my4cutiesLike Tim said replace the screws.  I had a similar problem with rusted screws, no gook but rust just under each screw.  I replaced all outside screws and washed the PU down real good, removed the rust stains, and no problem since.[:)]
