The new 2004 s are up on the website: http://www.foldingtrailers.com/folding.asp
LOT s of changes, like what s Camper-Tex? and they have 14 PU s they call hybrids.
The in/out stove seems to have disappeared in the Destiny series and there s a " new"  upgraded Destiny and a lot of floorplan/model name changes.

Hopegirl

mike4947Just took a peek over there. Wow a hybrid that is interesting and a destiny model with a casset toilet/shower??? Interesting!!

campingboaters

mike4947Very cool.  I like the Highlanders, but they still cost as much as my 19  Hybrid.  [: (]

At least Coleman thought about positions of things in those campers (it seems) -- like being able to access the fridge with the top down.  Of course, those galleys are stationary (which is a real bonus).  Interesting that those Highlanders have Aluminum roofs versus the Alumitite roofs on their " premium"  campers... hmmmm [;)]

 mike4947From the list of options:

<<<<<Rear Mount Bike Rack Receiver (Highlander Series)>>>>>

Am I missing something here? What about tongue weight (and axle weight with those bikes hanging off the rear end)? Although the Highlander series apears to have a TWR of 450 lbs., I m not sure I d wanna hang a lot of weight back behind the trailer. What about the Yakima roof system for this series?

Like the longer box length (14 ), though. I see what looks like a lot of nice improvements. I ll wait to see one in person before passing cheering or dissing.

The new ones look really handsome. But, Isn t Aliminium prone to hail damage or dings ????

mike4947Well, I ll be doggone! I checked the website last night before I went to bed, and the  03 s were still on the website.

I wish the Highlanders had slideouts. Can t wait to see them.

I don t like the new boxes on the front; however, I have heard they are stronger, as are the latches. They will probably grow on me, as I am a Coleman fan, and a fan of our Coleman dealer.

Seems funny that the Highlanders are slightly cheaper than the Niagara.

 mike4947I found this interesting...

 On the faq page....
Should I protect my trailer during storage with any type of cover?
No. Any type of cover (vinyl, polypropylene, canvas, etc.) may trap moisture inside the trailer causing mold and mildew problems. Covers also cause significant heat build-up which could crack or deform the roof of the trailer.

But yet...look on the accessory page....for only a MSRP of
$159.95 - $189.95   you can buy a " Folding Camper Cover"  to void your warranty!!

Hey they told you not to buy it right ? If you are crazy enough to not heed their warning and buy anyways, you might at least buy it from them [>:][:@]

 mike4947LOL....good point Birol!  Too funny!!

mike4947Wow - they ve turned the Bayside floorplan around!  The moved the door & the sink bump-out.  I wonder why?  Those new  Highlanders - what s the deal with that?  Neither one has a front storage or slide-out.  Hos is it " bridgig the gap bewtween folding trailers & travel trailers" ?

This is all very interesting, what with the question of the Fleetwood/Coleman alliance continuing.

mike49472 years in row now with no slide out in the destiny series! $$$

SactoCampers

mike4947They even named their 11  lightweight model with shower and cassette potty after their top dealer in Georgia: Pecos.

It is my understanding that they have reworked the floorplans to reduce the past history of sway.  This probably explains changes in the floorplans and the bike carrier option.

 mike4947Now for my comments -

I think the Highlander series is what we will need in the future, but it s not quite there yet.

It is just what we need to fit in the garage.  While we were looking at the Caravan and other hybrids, off site storage would have been required.

I like the higher walls and the fact that you can get to the refrigerator with the roof down.

I like the double King beds.

I would prefer that it have a slide out to open up the floorplan a little - maybe next year

I would prefer a stepper door, but maybe with the high walls it would stick out too far in the down position.

mike4947Some of the models have two 66 inch wide bunks instead of one big bunk and one small bunk.
