Just returned from a brief (2 night) stay in the Ray Roberts Lake State Park just north of Denton Texas.  We camped in the Isle du Bois Unit section of the park and were very impressed.  Nice RV campsites with Water/Elec hookups, large mostly level pads and lots of shade and privacy.  Other than the weather (107+ in the shade) and nice restrooms and showers with absolutely no ventilation, a great park.  Hopefully, they will get the exhaust fans fixed in the RR s.  We will come back to this park but not in August!  A few photos of our trip can be viewed  here.

Hey Wayfarer,
Well,  My fiance and I spent the night at Ray Roberts back in April and we were totally surpised when we arrived.  We actually got a "prefferred" site right off the lake that was totally secluded. Just recently i purchased an '82 Starcraft Venture pop-up,  but at the time we were camping in a tent.  The site had it all, i.e. w/e, firering, more than we needed anyways.  So we unpacked all of our gear out of my mustang,  LMAO!, and put up camp.  It was campsite #13 in juniper cove i believe and the best view i have ever had at any campsite at all.  As soon as the sun set the lightning started,  followed by high winds and rain.  Shortly after we decided to stay in the car for a while to be on the safe side. Right before midnight it died down a little bit and we decided to head back to the tent and go to bed.  Not to our surprise we woke up soaking wet.  BUt when I unzipped the door and didn't see anything but water i was kinda worried.  Wellp,  as wonderful as the site was, I really never realized how much of a downhill incline we were on.  THough where we staked the tent was level, it gave in fairly quick.  I stepped it off and estimate we slid about 25 ft. right into the lake. I was surprised that my fiance had such a great time.  That is why we bought the pop up, and traded her car in on a v6 s10 to pull the pop up w/.  Ray Roberts was a great park for us and plan on returning quite a few times this spring, though this time we will be high and dry!

You were in a tent?  And it slid 25 feet?  Into the water?  And you never woke up?  Sounds like an urban legend to me.
