Thanks to everyone who responded to my questions about the Jeep Liberty, we just brought ours home yesterday.  Based on the feedback, I will be adding sway control, now I just need to get that and a prodigy brake controller added and we will be a 2 TV family.

 Details:
Candy Apple Red Jeep Liberty Limited, 2WD, 3.7 v6, tailer tow package, leather, sun roof, cruise, overhead computer, in-cabin tire pressure monitor, cool sound system and lots of other stuff (there aren t any options left to add [8D]).  AND we got it for an outstanding price! [&:]

As soon as I get my drawbar, sway control and brake controller, I will report on my experience.

 cheers!

I didn t need the sway bar with my Ford Windstar, but when I moved into the Explorer I did.  I think you are very wise to get one.

 mikewilleyCongrats on the Liberty[:)]

I ll save you some time looking for the brake wire that goes to the Liberty s wiring harness.  Sitting in the drivers seat, its located in a small white plastic box behind the kick panel, next to your left foot.  There is not a plug for it and I think it was blue.  It took me several days to find it as everyone (RV and Jeep Dealer) told me look for a plug.  I found it by hooking a cable toner generator to the harness end and searching with the toner under the dash.

We love our liberty.  One question though, why only 2WD?  Just curious.  My DW talked me into a Limited with all the options but a wet bar![;)]

Catonsville CamperThanks for the congrats, and the info on where the brake wire is!

As for why 2WD instead of 4... we don t do any off roading, so 4WD doesn t buy me anything there and the only other time we would need that capability is when we have an ice storm.  These are relatively infrequent and only a fool would want to go out and tangle with people who only drive on ice once every 2 or 3 years. I didn t want to spend the extra money or deal with the potential mechanical headaches (since I will drive this car until the doors fall off).

BTW, I didn t know you could get a wet bar installed at the factory.  I wonder if there is an after market kit I could put on! [8D]

 cheers!
