tim5055Back in the days of tent camping (how that seems so long ago) I used a queen size air matteress. I always felt it was comfortable! Once in the cabin I still used it a few times before I found other suitable bedding, a futon. And once I did use the futon I wished I was using the air bed since it was much more comfortable. I had found a cordless rechargable air pump (coleman brand) on clearance at walmart and it can blow up the queen size mattress in under 3 minutes!

 tim5055Hi Tim and Felica,
We went this way several years ago and never regretted it. We use two twins on our King bed in the Coleman for several reasons. With two mattresses there is less movement when the 2 a.m. potti run occurs or someone tosses and turns, and if one mattress gets a hole in it (has happened once in 10 years!) I still have a nice mattress to sleep on!!! LOL!
I found some good quality twin air mattresses thru Coleman that inflate quickly and each have internal air pumps for those rare occassions when there is no electricity (has happened once during a storm). We removed the stock mattress and lined the particle board with an inexpensive piece of carpetting to keep the air mattresses safe and to add insulation. This gives us plenty of head room and we sleep like babies. Another plus to using the two twins is that each can be inflated to each persons  desired firmness!
 Happy camping,

tim5055We tried 3 of the heavy duty Coleman flocked matresses before we dicided they were not heavy duty enough.  Natasha put holes in them within the first two days camping.

So far the Aero Bed has held up.

 tim5055Hi Tim,
I can see where Natasha s nails could be a serious problem. Poor thing really deserves a good manicure/pedicure now and then. I mean look at how she lets you an Felica take care of her! That s a real job! LOL
 Happy caming,
 Cheryl
